^^^That would've been Paul Roos, who wasn't backward in coming forward about the Suns needing more mature players at season's end.

This has to be the low point of the season, I only hope that I am right and we do begin to improve. It was painful to watch last night, it looked like a training run for the Saints.

I thought Hickey was good in the ruck and was able to take some nice marks in the 50. Would be interesting to have him playing with Smith and either of them resting in the forward line giving a 2nd tall option to Day.

Russell was also good in patches last night along with Stanley.

What is happening with McKenzie? He was able to roost it from a kick in to just short of the centre circle but other than that he is just firing off pee-shooters. Without his penetrating boot and fast run from the wings he has nothing.

I thought Hunt was solid again, did well in tight.

The big mystery was Ablett. Did he get psyched out after all the negative press this week? He was very very very quiet. I wonder what was happening there?

A bug bear of mine though is sitting in the crowd and hearing the bloody winging coming from some people, it starts before the first bounce and keeps on going. If you must wing like that, I wonder why you would turn up.

Particularly when the winger has no idea what they are saying... Empty vessels make most noise they say.

I don't buy the youngsters fatiguing bs
They've had a year of TAC a year of VFL and nearly 2 seasons of AFL
They are just havin' a laff

When you look at it our 2009 TAC year was a complete waste.

The only ones left that were here from the beginning are:
Dixon
Magin
Moss
Smith
Thompson

Sunny you surely can't be using the fatigue excuse already? My god it's only rd11... You don't think maybe we are the worst team in the league because we are 2nd to the ball, don't tackle, can't win 50/50 contests, can't hit targets, have poor gameday coaching staff, and are generally less determined and comitted than opposition has anything to do with it? It's hard to defend a team that puts up very little fight to begin with... Fatigue is not the issue.

oh sure, but I think most of the young guns we recruited in 2009 for 2010 were taken from that level of competition

Our problem is they're surrounded by 18 other kids. Slows the growth rate somewhat.

I think some of "old-timers" could resurrect some threads where we discussed this high risk strategy
It really amplifies the situation losing Bocky and Harbs
While Gary is inspirational, there must be a tendency for the younger guys to think that no matter how hard they work they'll never reach his level
Every week you see Bocky and Harbrow gutrunning to contests, to make an option, which IMO is why they are just as,if not more important to the young players.

Maybe it's time to debut some more talent, couldn't hurt just before the bye when we can get back some of our injured/rested players!!

There not many more to debut - Theres only a handfull who haven't played a game - Moss, Flanagan, Hine, Allen, Josh Hall, Schade ..

Time has come for our young players who haven't yet signed to now sign and commit. Otherwise why play them? I'm not going to buy that bs of getting currency into them. If they miss mummy, get rid of them. I fly up from Melbourne with my son for every second home match and still will but at least when getting flogged I know they are committed to the cause. Malthouse should come on board now as a Eade / Bomber Thompson mentor for McKenna. I don't care what it costs to fly him up to assist now and then. Our kids look lost. Can someone also tell me why GWS have two years to recruit uncontracted players and we got one??

God, that was depressing. I know this is to be expected with how young the team is, but it shocked me how much sharper the Saints looked on the ball, and how seemingly all of their passes, be it handballs or kicks, were connecting. I'm happy that McKenna blew up at the presser, the team needs to know that a performance like that isn't acceptable.

Not to mention the mini-draft to gain extra players and picks. They didn't need it (although very happy we snagged Jaeger out of it).
