That means nothing if you are not match fit or have any lingering doubts on how the ankle feels.

This is an elite comp, you go into a game underdone or not feeling confident with your body you get found out pretty quickly.

I would give Ryan at least one week in the WAFL.

Agree with Ryan back through the WAFL , with the blockbuster Friday night game v Sydney sure to be a hard bruising affair I think it’s a risk to play Ryan after 2 months out ..

Masten for Nelson
Shuey for Hutchings

Last one I'm least sure on what I want.
Ryan/Brander/Petch for Darling depending on how much we want to alter our forward structure.

I don't t think it's a coincidence that JD is having a strong year when we've played Waterman. Darling has always dominated as the third tall, and has got better and better since Kennedy came back. Having JK and waterman up there takes the pressure off Darling. Think we should stick with Waterman when JD comes back. He also plays a more true CHF role compared to Darling, and gets a fair amount of ball up the ground like Lynchy used to. That could be handy having a good lead up CHF at the SCG, with fewer link possessions required from back half to front half.

Or we play Hurn in the middle, rove Nic Nats taps, and bomb goals from the centre square!!!!

Ryan for Darling.

Masten in so Jetta back and Nelson out. Or leave Nelson if Masten isn't fit.

Shuey in for one of Sheed/Hutchings/Ah Chee. I'd drop Hutchings, but it's a really hard call.
Tough one..Hutch or Archie?..Hutch is a Gf player fwiw (?)..with tight in close pressure Archie might not cope as well.
Want to play him into form however. Shuey, Sheed, Masten, Jetta, Ryan.

Don't recall anyone ever arguing for Staker's inclusion in a side because he was a GF player. Or Travis Gaspar.

My lasting memory of Hutch in that GF is him getting run down in the centre square when he didn't realize Cyril was closing in on him. Don't think that's a point in his favour.

derp.

I’m still of the mentality that the 2015 Grand Final was actually cancelled and never existed.

Everything else you see is fake news!

I think the players would agree with you ..

Too late had a flashback of Darling and Shuey ..

That angle clearly shows that he got the handball away as soon as he was tackled. Should have been play on.
See umps give a ton of HTB calls like that. Its seems like a player just needs to be hugged if has had a ton of prior and then gets tackled.

Thinks it was the right call.

TBH its not all Hutchings fault as there should been a few team mates telling him that he was hot( Get lost Eaglespur).

He also should have probably known that he doesn't have time to casually jog through the middle of the ground in a Grand Final against the best team in the comp at the time.

Why are people so keen to get Masten back in the side?

He isn't super quick and isnt suited to battle it out on the inside.

I would leave either Nelson or Hutchings in and give Masten a run in the WAFL, then bring him back against Essendon at home the following week.

Hutch has improved

He can lock down an opponent also

Shuey did darling

I’d bring in Ryan

We can move Lycett or Gov forward if need be

I was at the GF in 2015. Drank so much I actually cannot remember the game in any detail.

Have never watched a replay. Never intend to.
I stupidly chose not to drink much before the game as I was too nervous. Then when it was clear that the Eagles were cooked, I decided to try and smash down the goat's piss that they sell at the ground, only to find 30min queues as every other Eagle's fan had the same idea. Needless to say, I remember it clearly.

I did not watch second half

In Shuey, Ryan, Masten
Out Nelson, Darling, Hutchings

Nelson played the majority of the game on the wing last week and got 9 touches - not good enough
Ryan will be very dangerous up forward, automatic inclusion in my book
Hutchings only had the 15 touches, Sheed 26, from my POV Hutchings should be an automatic out for Shuey.
