Reading Bailey's comments on Trengove and McDonald I would doubt that they would come up this week so I don't think we will be dropping anyone.

If Moloney doesn't come up either I would play Cheney ahead of Maric considering we are playing a hard at it side and that is Cheney's strength. Maric has to stop fading out of games before he gets selected.

A few things:

1) I don't want to see anyone jumping to baseless concerns about Trengove's injury status
2) Morton won't be dropped as Sunday's match was his first back from Casey
3) I think Maric has to play this week, as he's been very good in the VFL for a fair proportion of this season.

Yes...because footballers are 100% truthful when talking to the media.... Not saying he defiantly has O.P but it's a troubling sign when a 19yr old has a sore hip... for what it's worth he wont be playing this week either, must be a bit more than "general soreness"... I remember a few years ago Luke Ball continuously lying to the media about his osteitis pubis and trying to play the majority of the games obviously hindered by the injury... hopefully Trengove doesn't have it, otherwise it's likely he'll never be able to reach his full potential.

Now Dez settle down petal, like I said in my post this would be an extended bench. As Miller was 1 of the best then i think he might be a chance to make the squad. I think Maric should be the first to be picked if Moloney doesn't come up. Move 'Machine' Sylvia in the guts and put Maric on a flank.

Not sure about ins and outs, but we are definitiely going to need Sylvia in the guts this week if Trenners and the Skipper miss again and if Beamer doesn't get up.

OP is more related to the groin than the hip, if Trengove did have OP then he would have been put on ice seeing as we don't have any finals chances left.

Pure speculation - you are fitting in prefectly around here then.

I would really like to see Cheney given a 5 or 6 game run in the seniors. Hes not shown enough, but hes given the least opportunity on our list imo.

I understand your point but the onus now is on Bailey to come up with an alternative.

We shouldn't be bound to playing players who the coaching staff believe are not playing at the required level simply because of their playing style. We need to take the next step as a club and realise that the sky isn't going to fall in if we make a few bold decisions. We need to move out of our comfort zone (which we've up to this year embraced since the Daniher era) rather than sticking with the same bland formula. Dunn, Green, Sylvia even Morton can all play a similar role and we wouldn't be losing out too much given Bate's effectiveness of late.

This is how the better clubs grow and MFC are getting in this mould for the first time in quite a while - it's good to see IMO.

I'm shocked. If Bate was dropped for a regular like McDonald then I could understand it but, Maric who only touched it 13 times last week, who they have showed very little faith in the past now getting a game ahead of our second leading goal kicker in a team that has struggled to kick goals. I'm surprised in this sudden show of faith in him.

The only reason I can think of Maric getting a game is match ups. When Sydney are up and going it's usually due to the run off half back by Malceski and Kennelly maybe the club will want Maric and Bennell to stop their run out of the back half. Even though Bate's last 3 weeks have been pretty ordinary to say the least I think he should be getting a game ahead of Jones. Jones is very, very lucky to still be in the side.
