I hope they throw Logue forward.

They may mix and match a bit with Logue/Comben/Whitlock playing forward at times.
I hope one of them play as the third tall forward

But I reckon they will use all 4 in defence 3 to play on their 3 talls

Then chom loose as an interceptor

Someone mentioned it in the player thread, but Sheeze is lining up back flank. I know it doesn’t mean much but would love him to grab 20 touches there and build up his confidence before moving into mid/fwd. recon he’s going to explode this week.

Pink out
Phillips out

this must be how nostrils feels every week when bailey scott is still in the team

Surprised by the Whitlock inclusion, if the report is accurate.

Not sure how he fits in to this squad, unless someone like Comben is going to be an unexpected 'out'.

Or, maybe Pink is out, and Logue is coming back via the VFL?

Confusing tbh.
Picked for brains, disposal and read of play not KPP for mine.

I think Whitlock to play in the Tucker/Archer back role, alongside Logue, Corr and Comben.

Then Tucker/Stephens on the wing and McKercher more time in the middle.

I think more of a hybrid but essentially taking Tucker's spot with a view towards cleaner distribution.

He totally wasn't dogshit in round 1, was in our top couple of defenders before getting injured. He was dogshit in preseason no doubt.

Can’t even remember Logue in round 1, which is usually a good sign for a defender. But I actually can’t even remember who he played on?

Feel bad for Toby as he didn’t do much wrong last week. Seems like 90% of his game is really good. Then he does a couple of amateur things and they stick in your mind when thinking about his game.

Clarko loves Logue though, and with the Swans forward line probably being their weakest area of the ground, probably thought Logue could come back without having a massive job for the day.

Unironically reckon Pink was stiff.

Bit jaded on Logue. He generally plays 1 of 2 types of game:

The one's where he's coming back from injury

The one's where he gets injured

He trades off the value of his peak potential rather than any kind of form he ever builds up.

Wish him well but reckon it's a bit harsh he plays a half and waltzes straight back in over Toby.

Has shown a lot of good judgement without the ball and decision making and execution with it. However at 198cm or 6"6, it'll be a four tall backline. One of those might sit on the bench when Darling is forward and then Comben or Logue could pinch-hit forward when Darling is rucking.

Logue is the biggest surprise for mine. He was dogshit in round 1. Would’ve preferred he go through the VFL to regain some touch.

The in’s only make sense if Comben or Logue goes forward.

Feel like Pink was pretty hard done by too.
I think Logue (like Corr) can only regain his touch in the seniors. We will just have to live with it for 2-3 weeks

I take it you missed the demons game or have a memory of a goldfish?
one acceptable game out of 3
i take it you don't have high expectations of senior players

not to mention was garbage in the prac games too and terrible last year if you want to extend the form guide to 12 months

That is the best bigfooty post I have read this year

Pink probably a bit stiff but at the end of the day he is a depth player, IMO was a bigger casualty of the ploy to try and free up chom for intercepts. anyway hes a good clubman so iam sure he will take it on the chin and go back to the magoos and add service til he is called up again.

Tend to agree with Log . haven't really seen a good solid run of performances since we got him, I was bullish but injuries and inconsistencies have dampened my expectations for him however there is little doubt his best is better than Pinks in defence. the question is are we going to see A grade log or inconsistent B- Log??

MatLock is the big in for me, off a good couple of games in the magoos and gets a chance to get a feel for the speed of the ones.

round 1 was good as well, he had one poor game. if you want to trawl through history he has consistantly been in the leading Sid votes over many seasons. if you want to talk about high expectations, Your man you constantly jizz over and want put in to restore a top heavy fwd line CCJ has been completely garbage ever since he came across from tiggers. and best not even mention Bigua!

Yep on face value that back 6 looks too tall to me. Will be interesting to see how it shakes out.

Funny from where I was sitting I thought he was pretty good and provided a cool head in some pressure moments. We all see things differently of course.

I still see him as genuine best 22 and basically an automatic in if fit.

Logue was okay in Round 1 I thought, but the bolded is spot on for his time here.

Pink's been really solid the last two weeks, a couple of mistakes but who of his teammates can say they don't make clangers

We absolutely need Griffin to be on the park more and show us a string of games where he performs.

You are completely right that he is trading on potential of what he could bring not what he has at this point.

As it stand right now he has comparatively played less games than what CCJ had to the same point post his trading into us.

Hopefully by the end of the year he has doubled his tally of games with us.

I'm on this line of thinking as well - (a) Pink has been serviceable, and (b) there's nothing wrong with Logue needing to show match conditioning in the 2s before being considered for selection (similar to George)
