Prediction changes v Sydney

Not sure if srs, WCE backline was not formidable?

Even though he got some result, thought Tabs looked in need of the run. Plenty hinges on him this week, was horrible/hurt in the final against them, and our fwd line was murdered.

If he and Clarke have good games and spread the defence enough, we'll win. If not, Syd defence can be very very hard to score against. Then as soon as our mids drop off for a moment (after not getting score for effort) Buddy goes bang bang and its all over.

That's all show for Sydney. They've had SCOS cherry ripe for a few weeks on a secret training formula consisting mainly of his death metal, raw meat and MMA fighting.

He's coming for you Buddy. Brace yourself.
Silva made Buddy look like a mary poppins spectacle.

The structure has changed considerably since we last played.

Reid is back. Rohan is forward and so is Heeney.

The forward line is now not 4 talls but 2 talls with pace around them. To be fair Rohan plays quite tall, is quite tall though not true KPP height, anyway but it is a lot like Hawthorns forward structure and we are back to more slingshot football if you want to use the vernacular.

Basically Tippett shares the ruck with Pyke and they swap out a bit in the forward line with Tippett being in there the bulk of the time.

Our pace has improved overall with the re-inclusion of Harry and Lloyd will love the open spaces, he is a master of the uncontested footy and his use of the ball sublime. I am also keen to see how you treat Jack because Lyon has always Crowley'ed him.

The wildcard is Heeney. He is a handful already up forward as he brings mongrel, contested footy skills and pure skill to the team. He would be in our top 5 for disposal efficiency and is truly dual sided. Yeh yeh he was a steal at 18, COLA, Academies, AFL lovechild blah blah....whatever. I cannot recall a kid come in and tear it up like this. He is special

Regardless of how you view the Swans etc be thankful as football fans the system managed to grab him for AFL and keep him. He is a beautiful athlete and would have excelled at any contact sport.

Anyway Buddy is in form and the team was exceptional against Port. Parker should be free of the concussion and is a beast. Going to love him and Fyfe going head to head as they usually do.

Looking forward to this contest so we can see who will be early favourite for runner up to the Hawks this year

These guys are playing for you?

Tabs had a good game vs a formidable west coast back line. Tabs, Pav and Clarke will stretch the swans backline. Do we need a 3rd talll down back vs buddy and Tippett? Is Dawson or Silvagni available? Any chance of Alex Pearce debuting?
Don't really think we will bring in anoter tall unless 100% fit. Prefer to play Ibbo as a tall, push Mayne back or do more a team defense thing...

You didn't watch the Fremantle , Geelong game ?
Sure did. We were great but I found Swans in Adelaide to be scary good. Pressure everywhere, their defense was air tight, Franklin and Tippet led the game for tackles, huge spread of goal kickers and killed Port on contested possessions.

Port in Adelaide is a much harder proposition than Geelong at home this year and Sydney completely broke them.

We won't be pinging the ball out of Sydney's fwd line with ease or dominating their mids. For mine much of this game will come down to conversion. I'm hoping Pav has his eye in :)

I wonder when Sydney were flying over to Perth. All flights out of Sydney have been cancelled due to the weather.

If it persists it could mess with their preparation

Would seem to be recurring theme for our clashes. Did we land the morning of our final against them last year due to delays, or was it earlier than that?

A lot of swans fans looking to that contest as a form guide but honestly we couldn't really have had a worse preparation leading into that match.

No Johnson or McPharlin. Ballantyne taking himself out of the match in the opening quarter by choosing to tackle with his jaw. Players like Taberner and Clarke, amongst others, looking absolutely cooked. Swans awarded almost double the amount of free kicks.

Sucks we don't have Silvagni as he was one of our best. Mzungu had a good individual game, I think he comes back in for this one. Pav almost dragged us over the line single handedly, so I expect him to bounce back from a quiet one last week.

We are in this up to our eyeballs.

Day before, we usually travel 2 days out.

.

Agree 100%. We went into the final last year bruised, battered, key players out and arrived a day later then expected.

We are primed for this match on Saturday

I wanted him in because he is crap at the moment :)

Just hate Sydney in general. Especially Franklin grrr

Can't say I am a huge fan either. Mainly because they're not on an even playing field as the rest of the competition - I don't see the justification of the COLA.

Imagine if Freo had 9.8 % more to spend on players. It would be grossly unfair on the opposition. They are one of my most hated clubs. Having said that it's the afl who create these problems.

Buddy isn't a bear.

Also who doesn't love Heeney with his puberty blues looks, his friendly personality, his talent and his tough as nails attitude

Heeney is a champ. Love it how your crowd roar everytime he goes near it. 3 games in and a crowd favourite

Wouldn't of thought it was ideal prep for Sydney. Coming off a slog fest in the wet plus training all week in the rain....
