This game should be very close, too hard to pick a winner, and the weather will have a bearing on the outcome. Over here in the
West, we would own them.
thank God we are playing them over here in the West then :)
I think maybe Silvagni in...Maybe....not sure who goes out...maybe DeBoer....
or maybe no changes at all....Maybe :)

One suspects that Goodes has made a big mistake in not embracing the sub role. No amount of ressies footy is going to make him younger or more attractive to start yet he could've played out his last year as a sub. Maybe play in a GF again. While sub rule is in the likes of Goodes, Judd, Harvey can play on when retirement looms.

Team named this arvo

If Sydney has come across already then we should have a rough idea of their line up by who actually got on their plane

There is a fine line for footballers taking their career one year too long or pulling the pin at the pin at the right time. Goodes has done the former. He is a champion (albeit whinger) of the game but you need to know when enough is enough. I was afraid it was going to happen to McPharlin but so far so good.

With McPharlin though, even if this year was one year too many, the club asked him to stay on, and we are short on replacements so there would have been some justification to playing an extra year.

For me Silvagni would get a game if he is fit enough. He has shown the ability to blanket "Banknote Buddy" in the past.

A win against $ydney would put us in a very strong position to push for a top 4 finish and perhaps if all goes well a top 2 finish.

Imagine if they had a Heeney !!!

Dockers have a Heeney in young Weller! Surprised he has not cracked a game yet. Think the fact Heeney has been in Swans system for a few years has been to his and their clubs advantage as most judges thought there was little separating them.
Have heard his performances in the WAFL have been very good? Elite pace and foot skills on Subi oval?
Is he far away?

Beat Sydney and I think top 2 is gettable. Before the season Sydney, Hawthorn, Geelong and Port were the teams we were fighting with for those spots. Geelong are already behind now as are Port. Hawthorn have dropped one, so if we beat Sydney we are ahead of all of them. Then we just have to keep winning.

I don't buy the Adelaide hype to be honest. They have a shit easy draw and will get exposed against better sides. 3 games in and people are predicting them top 4

Lyon: Silvagni will train today, I think he’s a chance, at the end of today’s session we’ll know more #foreverfreo

Silvagni hasn't been ruled out, id be interesting to see the selected 22 (finally not waiting till Friday)
I like the idea. Lyon has said that he doesn't mind being a bit smaller because it gives us a bit more "bounce" coming out of the back half, but I think freeing up Johnno (and as a consequence) Ibbo gives us far more "bounce" coming out of defence. If SCOS is a little under done (I'm sure he's done enough conditioning work if selected, but obviously short on match practice), he can always don the red vest at 3/4 time. I'd assume it's mostly a matter of conditioning.

He's been terrific but it's hard to crack a game in a team who are settled at the moment. Plus Blakely is also playing well and Muz can't crack a game too.

Huge potential: very quick runner and decision maker and a sublime kick - very classy prospect. Just a little light-bodied for AFL at current, and a trifle inconsistent (or so he says himself). Most likely he should make his debut this year, but not sure when, or at who's expense - all of freo's mids have lifted a gear this year. We played Hill early when we drafted him through sheer necessity, and I think it set his development back a little - Weller looks to be every bit as good frankly... I doubt we will rush him myself, as we really don't need to.

Why does Goodes get to shun the sub-role without copping flak? I would imagine most other players would cop it from the coaching staff.

Goodes think he is untouchable which is funny, because he should have been dropped for Okeffe last season who was killing it in the reserves.

The only reason one doesn;t want to play sub at his age because next year his salary will drop considerably I would guess. Only reason think he played last season must of been for structure reasons?

I don't think he was great during the year, but he wasn't terrible. Defensively he was a liability. No denying that.

That said, he was probably one of their best in the Granny.
