Tex had scans during the week and hurt his foot during the game, that's minor?

Rory said yesterday he has a knee issue and hurt it again and he's been icing it, is that minor?

We can't fall from top 2, you wouldn't rest any of these guys?
Not if they are deemed fit to play, no. That's called resting for the sake of it. If the medical staff say they need a rest then they will be rested. Pretty simple really.

Yeah I think we need to belt Sydney.
Need to make a statement, let them fear us before finals hits.
They haven't played anyone of note for two months, well Geelong with injuries..that's about it.
Rest our players for the Eagles game.

We have to be looking 3 weeks ahead now. JJ had an ankle issue, Tex ankle and Sloan knee. All need to be rested.

Otten and Menzel to come in and play forward. Douglas to shift across to cover Sloane. Seeds to cover Douglas. I would be ok if the Gooch got a shot over Seeds instead.

Tex stubbed his toe: not ankle. Otten had a bad injury at training and won't be playing.

Three home games? Its 2 or 4 depending on which way you look at it.
It's 3:
R22 - Home
R23 - Away
Qualifying Final - Home
Semi or Prelim - Home
Prelim (if we lose the QF) - Away
Grand Final - MCG

Im happy to rest all of Tex, Sloane and Jacobs come the eagles game.

But do we really want to belt Sydney and show our hand.

I want to win purely for momentum and confidence going forward, and then take the eagles game a little lighter. However, I really don't want to reveal too much to the Swans in case we come up against them later on the finals series.

It's a real tough one.

PS: Can the AFL **** off with these WA fixtures at the end of each season, it's a joke.

Currently grantee 3 more Home Games. No Less. 1 home and away Game against Sydney plus 2 Home Finals 1st being Qualifying final last being either Preliminary or worse case Semi final.

It is mathematically possible that we can Play 4 more Games at Adelaide Oval but means Sydney lose against Carlton, we drop the next 3 games, GWS win their next 2 games and Port win their next 3 games. last one against Geelong at Simonds Stadium.

That is a Campo lie. Unless he is talking about earlier in the week. The replay from the game clearly shows his ankle being turned by the trailing Essendon defender landing on it.

That's just evil - coming up with a scenario where Port host us in a PF.

Yeah, I made the mistake on 2 or 4. You were right it is 3 unless that Port scenario plays out. We are mathematically assured of top 2 which is why we need to rest Sloane this week. Even if he can play with some discomfort, we need to be smart. Nothing is won in August.

I would Play our best side this week, We could play Sydney come finals, we Lost our Last Game in the Final against them. Do not want to add a Lost at home if we play them in the Finals with a Lost at Home.

I would rather lose to them this week and play them in finals with a fully fit Sloane than beat them this week and Sloane carry this knee complaint into finals.

They didn't limp, they were clearly injured.

In the Showdown Roo mention 4 players that were injured and played in the Swans final, they were JJ, Sauce, Brown and Cheney.

If players are injured I cant see the club playing them after last year and the tone of Roo's commentary in the showndown also suggests that won't happen.

If players are cleared fit to play they'll play. The message from Pyke is they will not "rest" players that are fit to play.

At this time of year not all players are 100% niggle free, lets not be naive about that.

The club will look at the risk of picking players who have niggles, given what happened last year I have faith they wont make the same mistake of playing an injured player.
Playing at least four injured players late last year clearly cost us. Not only in finals but against WC that would have got us top 4. The point often missed though, is that because we hadn't played any reserve players earlier, we had no viable alternatives that were up to league speed to bring in to replace injured players late anyway.

There are 2 points that are relevant this year.
Firstly we don't need to win the last 2 games to secure our spot and secondly there is a bye before finals to rest any niggles. Happy to trust the club as they know the extent of any injuries but please, please don't risk players when we don't need too, and please make sure guys like Seed and Menzel get a game if there is any chance that we need them come finals.

Bring in Thommo to just go postal on the swans mids. Bash them, karate kick, spear tackle, dish out corkies left and right. Chaired off the ground for his final game as the MRP Rubs him out for 36 games.;)

Problem is he won't be able to run away when the whole team wants to kill him
