tbh, i think if we were to rest players, it should have been done last week. hard deck at etihad, easier to cover those players and less impact against the bombers compared to the swans, and also players having a 2 week block vs syd and wce before the bye.

If you are willing to concede the game by bringing in Thommo why not just rest Talia as well.
In fairness, Thompson has torn us up in pretty much every game for the past decade. Might be the perfect pinch hitter

Whoever is on Rampe needs to do the team thing & take him out of the play, particularly as 3rd man up. Like Taylor did with Rance. This will allow our other forwards to beat their weaker links.

Reckon Knight would like to get in the face of someone like Parker.
Lynch would be the perfect guy to go on Rampe, but I doubt Rampe would fall for that. I daresay he will line up on who-ever is deep forward. In that case your right, whoever he is standing needs to stop him being 3rd man up

Losing Tex, Sloane and Talia would be unlikely, but realistically if we need to rest them to be better prepared for finals then i'm all for it. Carrying players with injuries into knockout games is the last thing I want to do.

Having said that, I think Sloane and Talia are a good chance

So have we seen Pyke's best 22 over the last couple of weeks? Team seems really settled and all are playing their role.

B: Brown - Keath - Lever
HB: Smith - Talia - Laird
C: Cameron - Sloane - Atkins
HF: Lynch - Walker - Knight
F: Betts - Jenkins - McGovern
R: Jacobs - Crouch - Crouch
I: Greenwood - Kelly - Douglas - Mackay

We have excellent depth across every line to cover injuries, but would love to go unchanged for the rest of the year..

Otten
Hartigan
Seedsman
Milera
Hampton
Menzel
Gallucci
Poholke
Doedee
O'Brien

He will take Gov, needs to less accountable on him than Lynch , Tex or JJ

Gov on Rampe would be a fascinating duel. Both read the ball really well, and neither of them would take a backwards step. Could turn out to be a dead rubber (which would be a win for the Crows), but would love to see Gov take the choccies outright!

I can't see them resting all 3 of those players in the same game. Only way they all miss is if they are all genuinely injured

I'd rest 1 of them this week and the other 2 next week. Whoever needs it first gets the week off this week
it's not resting , it's getting over their injuries

i agree no resting players, the rest is the bye but we should not play injured players

in respect of changes... hoping the AFL do something about the fixturing...
we've played Port, Hawks, Melb & Cats twice already before seeing the Swans for the first time...
seriously its a ****ing joke!

I agree.
You've had a soft draw avoiding us all season ;)

Rowie said Talia has been carrying a groin for a few weeks, pity Hartigan wasn't ready.

And Tex can aggregate his toe if he plays and would rule him out playing. There is now way we can take a chance on him

What's the go with Aliir? Was impressive late last yr. Mellican has his spot? Was there an off field thing earlier this yr or something? How's his NEAFL form?

I think the odds are we will rest 1 of our guns in doubt this week, but won't rest 3 unless we believe it's too risky.

Imo, Talia appears to be ok carrying his niggle, so would consider giving him the Weagles game off, with Hartigan or Otten returning. Also, long haul not the best for his back.

Think Tex is more preferable than Sloane to rest if line ball. Sydney have a strong midfield & losing Sloane will make us very vulnerable. Imo, we can cover Tex more easily with all our other forwards playing & in decent form. Tex wasn't moving the best last week & would hate for it to get worse, when it appears rest is the best fix.

Poor early season form and lost his spot.
Ressies form has fluctuated so still out of best 22
