Why the Cameron hate. He was excellent in the second half. Feel like now Mackay is playing well some posters need a new whipping boy.
Yea I don't get it. I think only Sloane had more inside50's than he did. I think because he's capable of the brilliant stuff, that when he has a decent solid game people give him a hard time. He is a very valuable player with a very valuable role

To the idea of resting players this week - **** no.

This is our last test against a contender this season before finals, our last signpost game so to say. Considering we haven't done it yet, this game is important.

Edit: I could be persuaded to rest one of Tex/Sloane reading on.

Cameron had 13 touches at 38%, including 7 turnovers... but he also had 9 inside 50s, 6 tackles, 5 score involvements and 2 goal assists.

Those stats kind of sums him up as a player. Can burn the ball but is involved in a lot of great passages too. For mine, he's still best 22 but wouldn't be outraged if he was given a rest in the twos...

Resting players is not the same as refusing to play injured players.

Rest older dudes who have a niggle and have played most/all of the season

Something like -

Rest: Sloane, Walker, Betts, Mackay, Talia

In: Gallucci, Menzel, Milera, Seedsman, Doedee

Actual changes should depend on who needs the rest

Cameron was fine, should play finals, and therefore we persevere. No need for unforced changes

I'm fine with losing to Sydney now. More worried about if we beat them & get complacent ahead of key final.

Keeping them out of top 4 is meaningless. Didn't bother the Dogs last year.

No resting bullshit, they get a week off in a few weeks, plus beat the swans last game of the season means nothing, minor premiership rapped up.

Players in the SANFL who could play finals:

Seedsman, Milera, Galluci, Doedee plus the injured Hartigan, Otten, Hampton.

The interesting one is who plays if an inside mid misses?
Can't see Doedee (or anyone) debuting in a final.

Hampton is back in the queue behind Greenwood now IMO

we missed our opportunity to rest players, should have happened tonight.

going to have to stick it out from here.

Looks like lots of rain forecast for Thursday and Friday. Just the way we like it. :D
It's killing our average crowd numbers but who gives af we just love the wet.
I'll be doing the rain dances all finals.

How? That was the must win game for top two.

This week's dead rubber is the reward.

Me watching Matty Crouch...

id definitely rest Sloane and walker and in no way is this about giving up the game.

And even with resting these players, I'm actually confident we will beat Sydney.

We have the perfect scenario to rest players and to test those in the SANFL in case we need them.

It would be ridiculous not to do it.

Its a pity Hartigan and Hampton aren't fit. I'd definitely give both of them a taste in case of emergency.

we haven't played Sydney since they flogged us in last year's finals series - not sure giving our big guns like Tex, Talia and Sloane the rest they need more than anyone is a good idea against a side we're sure to meet again in finals in a few weeks time.

big believer in head to head form lines, and feel like we would have been better off sitting Talia and one other out tonight, and another one or two next week rather than treating this game as a dead rubber. More on the line than the 4 points IMO.

we do have a history of over-extending ourselves unnecessarily for the sake of continuity, but I have no confidence in our ability to pull off something canny in this situation either.

We could easily bring Seed in.

For who? Who knows.
Riley Knight?
I feel Seed perfectly compliments our game style, he'd be devastating in good form at the G.
Look at Anzac Day for instance.. the metres gained man.

Give Thommo a farewell game at home and tough it out with the swans midfield result doesn't matter he may actually go head to head with those tough nuts

I was at Prospect today and Thommo shouldn't be playing SANFL let alone AFL
