Wouldn’t surprise if both Howe and Mihocek miss knowing us.
May as well just play McLarty (fwd) and Madgen/Oxley (back)!
Talk about raiding the cupboards, god help our 2nds defence this week.

Swans are struggling at the moment so hopefully we can patch our defence for this week.

We do well against slow teams and swans are probably the slowest going around. We should match up well, especially with Buddy clearly injured and aliir sore and inexperienced.

IF we get through this week we have options for defence. Hopefully Howe will return, even Fas can move between forward and defence if needed. Checkers in defence or forward depending on what's needed. A potential goldsack return and perhaps a de Goey, appelby and aish. Even Reid could come back but I can't see that happening.

If we can beat the swans and cover the Lions without any more injuries we can recover this by the time we face Port.

However if we lose top 4 will be difficult and finals will be under threat. Confident of beating lions and freo. Feeling like we can cover swans. Port struggle at times so that will be a "whoever is on" on match day game.

We should make finals from here, top 4 requires our luck to change on the injury front.

I agree, but I feel we’re going to have to win all 4 games to do it. Hawthorn and GWS are storming home with decent draws. I think we will win them all, but it will be tough!

3 wins will get us in. If you have a spare 5 mins have a look at the squiggle ladder predictor and use the autotip function. If you run 10 or so simulations you'll see that its pretty consistent that the 4th placed team goes 15-7, unless its GWS, then 14 wins could be enough. Whether or not we have it in us to get those 3 wins is another question but we've been resilient so far, no reason we cant continue in that way

I usually enjoy changes threads, but when the available player list is running as thin as ours it gets a bit tough. You also start guessing who's even available.

I'd be happy for Fas to come into JDGs forward spot.

In: Fasolo
Out: Brown

In: Sier
Out: Daicos

In: Madgen
Out: Scharenberg

Aish for Howe if Howe isn't ready. Otherwise another week for Aish just to get fitter and fitter.

We can cover all our injured players soldier for soldier. It’s the in-game injuries that hurt. Without in-game injuries I’m fairly confident we would have beaten the reigning premiere without Treloar, JDG, Elliott, etc. Our depth is being tested but it is holding up very well.

Looking forward to the next few games and finals. Go pies.

I don’t think debuting a KPP with Mclarty is the answer.

Tbh I don’t know much about the kid but I think throwing him in to early will ruin him.

Goldsack will be ideal if he comes back.

McLarty is nearing the end of his second season in the AFL system and is a big unit. What do you mean by "too early"?

Agree completely. Made this point myself earlier. We have the depth to cover injuries but when we keep getting multilple in-game injuries, especially against the good teams as we have this year, theres nothing you can do to stop that.

If we beat the Swans we will make top four, and if we dont we wont. I've called it!!!!

I'm not even entertaining the idea that either will play.
Both out in my mind.
As for who comes in.
I have alway loved Fazalicious. Would love to see him get a call up.

Watched the VFL yesterday and would think that Aish / Sam M and Fasolo could walk in and go well.

Buckley tends to look at like for like replacements. I would think given Oxley been close he is a chance but I would prefer bring in Aish and push someone back.

Fasolo could play and he worked hard - harder than #5.

Sam is ready to play. He needs a game. Whether its best done in Sydney or Melbourne not sure but he can play.

Agree.

If Fasolo is not let straight back in after being made to slog it out for two months earlier in the year he should just resign on the spot!!! He deserves to come in. Aish should come in too. Oxley has been consistent and might get a callup as well but Aish, Fasolo and one of McLarty or Madgen should be playing v Sydney this week. Oh and Sier too if fit.

I watched the game and agree with the comments. McLarty in particular was a beast who worked hard all day. Would love to see him in the seniors.

I'd bring in all three over the next two weeks.

Sydney & Port games are must win. I see us dropping out of the 8, if we don’t win at least one of these games.

We will make the finals with three wins and probably top four. Beat Sydney and that takes a lot of pressure off.

INS: Fasolo, Aish, Sier
OUTS: Sharenberg, Brown, Daicos

B - Langdon Moore Maynard
HB - Murray Howe Crisp
C - Aish Pendlebury Sidebottom
HF - Thomas Mihochek WHE
F - Fasolo Cox Stephenson
R - Grundy Adams Sier
INT - Greenwood Varcoe Phillips Mayne

McLarty for Mihochek/Howe should either of them miss.

I agree with this on second thoughts. If both Howe and Mihocek don't get up, I guess one of Brown/Daicos keep their spot?

I feel like of the two of them, Daicos is more composed with ball in hand. A few times on Saturday, Brown just quickly kicked the ball from a pack, straight to a Richmond defender, which is what they heavily rely on to beat sides.

I’m not sure if your mathematics?

Especially if we beat even one of Brisbane or Fremantle.

Can not miss finals.

If we beat Sydney and Port I’d suggest we’re a lock on top 4.

I’m not counting Brisbane or Fremantle as wins. I genuinely think this might be the first year where 13 wins doesn’t guarantee a finals spot. I think you’ll see at least 1 or possibly 2 teams miss out on finals based on percentage

Agree 3 wins should be top 4 and 2 more secures finals,it has seemed we have had injuries nearly every game we have played this season and to be where we are with the setbacks is a fine achievement and some of the players we have debut will be long term players.
I think with a bit luck we may not have been just making up the numbers this year and our best football is bloody good and would trouble all of them including Richmond.
I think we should bring MaClarty in this weekend and I would not be averse to giving him a few games and I thought Aish looks ready to return also,I would like Appleby back too because he has been quite good more than serviceable.

Tend to agree. We will beat 2 out of Brisbane, Port and Freo, wouldn't be confident of all 3

I think this may prove too be correct the way the table is shaping up,GWS,Geelong,Hawks and Dees steaming home it is going to be tight.

The reports about De Goey are just speculation after a physio went on Fox Footy and said that bone stress is usually a 6-8 week injury. Nothing specific to the De Goey case.

I hope he's back sooner rather than later because I think he is the one player on our injury list that we can't do it without.

Sydney only have 1 forward

Last time the budster got towelled up by A FUTURE DELISTED PLAYER who didn't get picked up by anyone else

So if that's the case

Madgens gonna debut and IMO will play on buddy

Maynard Moore Langdon
Crisp. Magden Murray
Phillips seir. Mayne
Thomas. WHE. Fasolo
Sidey. Cox. Stepho
Grundy pendels Adams

Greenwood varcore daicos mcclarty
In mcclarty magden seir fasolo

Outs Howe mihochek shaz brown
If checker or Howe get up Sam doesn't play

HUGE TEST FOR SAM MURRAY
