In: Fasolo

If he doesn't come in I think I'll just wait for the soccer season to come around.

Ok....I wasn't going to do this but I can see the cupboard is almost bare

I'm getting my old jumper out and dusting off the boots
I'll take Buddy, what are the rest of ya gonna be doing?;)

Sitting on my couch drinking beer and watching as ALL retired ex footballers should do

No offence;)

In - Sier, Aish
Out- Shaz and one of Daicos / Brown

Either Greenwood or Sier to Kennedy and Moore to Buddy. Langdon or Howe to play on McCartin leaving the other as our intercept mark.

Not sure we need Madgen this week (unless i have forgotten a Syd tall)

Think this week against a very very slow swans outfit, having Stevo and Murray through the middle using their speed would cause countless problems for the swans. Think Stevo can go a bit quiet when he's stuck up forward, not a dig, all forwards do it throughout a game, but releasing him into the middle at times would help him stay involved throughout. Murray going up the ground also helps minimize some of his... lets call them 'brain fades'. Again not a dig i am big fan of him and what he has done this year, considering when he was signed there were many raised eyebrows and claims he wouldn't even play a game.

Putting them through the middle or out on a wing at times throughout the match on friday i think would give us a turn of speed that the swans just wouldn't be able to match, we saw what Saad and McKenna did to them at Etihad 3 days ago.

I’m not sure if your mathematics?

Especially if we beat even one of Brisbane or Fremantle.

Can not miss finals.

If we beat Sydney and Port I’d suggest we’re a lock on top 4.

Being "eight point games" (especially Port) beating them certainly has its advantages!

I’m not counting Brisbane or Fremantle as wins. I genuinely think this might be the first year where 13 wins doesn’t guarantee a finals spot. I think you’ll see at least 1 or possibly 2 teams miss out on finals based on percentage
Yet the maths still suggest we make it.

Ps if we don’t beat one of Freo or Brisbane something ain’t right.
They are a horrible level of teams.

Thought Murphy was poor yesterday. I think McLarty deserves a debut. Very strong mark and can take Mihocek's role up forward.

On a like for like policy the club has largely used this year, McLarty will only play if hes the Mihocek replacement.

I'd be guessing that Howe will be fine and Mihocek wont, so McLarty might get his debut.

They still an ordinary team

They have improved from bog ordinary to ordinary. We havent lost a game we should have won this year (Hawthorn the arguable exception) and we dont want to be dropping the gimme wins at this stage of the year. Brisbane and Freo are non-negotiable!!!

Why are people saying Mihocek is an out?

He played out the game. Is there some news I’m not aware of?

Buckley in his presser said he'd need to be assessed. Typically when there is any admission like that, then there are some doubts. Most coaches would look to quell the speculation early if there was no drama.

If he doesn't pull up, then I think McLarty should get his chance. I think Magden is the one at the front of the que to replace Scharenberg, although Oxley could be a chance too (I hope we give a new kid a chance though over someone who has proven overly that he isn't up to AFL standard).

I thought Aish was ok in the VFL, but didn't bang the door down. If Sier is available, I'd bring him in for Brown. However, Buckley has been good this year at giving kids a few weeks to prove themselves, so brown might get another crack.

I'll wait for some further updates on Mihocek before making my call.

I don't think Fasolo will come in. The forward line is relatively locked at the moment. It's more the defence and midfield which has a few holes.

No One Really Banged the Door Down in the VFL Yesterday for Selection

If we didn't beat Freo or Bris what would be the point of making finals? We wouldn't deserve it and I'd be happy to miss.

Was wondering the same myself

Think Howe has to be the real doubt. Won't know til later in the week but that was a severe hit and clubs are rightly much more cautious with this nowadays. My guess would be he is more likely to miss.
