My two concerns this week:

I would feel much more comfortable if the Swans still played us at Homebush - can't say the Pies have ever really played their best footy at the SCG.

The media are getting stuck into some of the experienced Sydney players - with their season almost on the line I will be amazed if they don't respond strongly.

They do look just about cooked to me, but these two factors do bother me.

Don't really care who wins the game, just stay away from his knees please.

Correct me if I am wrong but did he do his knee in the same game Swan did his ankle??

Good luck to him anyway...….deserves a clear run at it now. :thumbsu:

Swanny did his ankle a couple of years ago didn't he? Like 2016? Johnson hasn't played since the 2012 GF

Wow that long...…….amazing comeback.

It's going to be interesting to see what we decide to do as we look to cover the absence of Scharenberg.

To me it all comes down to what end of the ground we value Mihocek more at presently as he would appear the logical option to replace Scharenberg/Dunn.

So do we plug a hole in defence only to open up one in attack or do we stick with a tall forward combination we like and trial Madgen.

Must admit I'd love McLarty to be given an opportunity up forward as I like the boy.

Howe will play and we will do what we've been doing all year....play undermanned and undersized and resist the chance to send Mihocek back. Moore was fantastic last week as he was two weeks earlier. Langdon or Howe to take the other key position and a mid like Varcoe or Greenwood to move to a flank to fill the Shaz vacancy.

I doubt Magden or McLarty will debut unless one of McLarty and Mihocek dont get up. And I reckon we will see Goldsack back for the Port game, two VFL matches will be all he needs!

Alex Johnson back for the Swans. Could either be a cue in the rack, but more likely a bit of a motivator for them. Of course it's against us.

I say more of a Motivator

Swans going right for the feels...good luck to Johnson on the comeback, wretched run with the knees!

Yep the media cooks are getting monotonous for our opponents don't you think? We're playing mini finals every week

I say more of a Motivator

Sides dont use moments for inspiration, every player from each side will be desperate to win this one.
We need to win because we have failed against top 8 sides this year and Sydney need to win because their season is looking shaky.
In all the motivating factors, we still have a quick, fast moving game that Sydney struggle to contain, and our forward line will be tough for them to stop because of the multiple scoring options we have, and they have key players struggling with injuries despite still playing them eg. Franklin and Kennedy

Sydney aren't a top 8 side at the moment though so a win still means we haven't beaten anyone... if you subscribe to that view.
