Wardlaw

Defensively he'd go alright. It's when he takes possession (or attempts to) and disposes of it (or attempts to) that the problems start.
Defensively he'd go alright if Rosas decides to sit down and protest in the goalsquare Gandhi style.

Then again even then...

What i want to happen, and what I think will happen are two different things.

I'd love to see OUT - Lmac, Corr, Dovaston, Powell to be replaced by Hardeman, Pink, Banch/Konstanty and Wardlaw

What I think will happen - Wardlaw in for Blamires

It's sad that we all know and expect this kind of shit.

The Clarko era has been plagued by awful selection committee issues.

How many games did Daniel Howe get gifted? Darcy Tucker? etc etc.

And I say that as someone who generally likes Clarko/Viney.

Dropping McDonald after he had his worst game in 18 months isnt the answer. Parker and Zurhaar also had down games playing in a similar role, maybe it was just we dont have the class of Geelong?

My 2c would be drop Corr, play McDonald taller bring in Hardeman for the dash. Also sorry Dov you arent ready for senior footy bring back JK to remind me of how bad a kick he is.

Wardlaw on for TP and that'd probably do it.

Disagree.

Powell wasn't the only passenger, and isn't the only player who has had consecutive poor games.

Either standards matter and we have a culture of accountability... or we don't.

And if we don't, we're in big, big trouble.

You disagree with Corr, Powell and Dovaston out, Konstanty, Wardlaw and Hardeman in?

Fair enough.

Sorry, I may have misunderstood you.
I thought you were saying you only wanted one change - Wardlaw for TP.

I realise that no Corr, LMac, or Daniel, but how would this backline set up go :

Parker Logue Zurhaar

Blamires Comben Hardeman

With kick in's to be shared by Parker and Hardeman, and occasionally, Hardeman to play on quickly, have a bounce or two, and roost it 50m+ over their high press zone ?

Against the Swans ... I dunno. Does their LMac count as a KPF?

Not the week to be playing on 2 kpds - amartey and log mc would have to much height

Need a quicker small I reckon. So its either Parker or Zurhaar. Who can we replace Zurhaar with? Goater? And have Hardeman play pocket?

Otherwise I prefer the look of that backline. Not perfect but its better than what we are rolling with

I was at the Swans game yesterday. Here is how to beat them at the selection table and on the day if the selected players do their job. Slip this under Clarko’s office door and he can take all the credit 😎

1. Kont comes in and sticks to Blakey the entire match. He goes for +500M a match for fun and sets up so much. See you later Dovaston.
2. LMac you look really sore Son so we are “resting you” for Hardemann.
3. Tom Powell. You look even more sore than LMac, so let’s get in Wardlaw for his grunt.
4. Daniel - You don’t look sore, just shit 💩 in our backline. Harvey is coming in for you and you have been omitted.
5. FOS to Heeney.
6. Jy to McInerney.

PC can do damage with good supply. Demons kicked plenty yesterday with McCartin out, and I think Melican/Bice/Rampe can be exposed.

I think it’s too short. Only one player above 193cms. Given swans supply and ball use, we’d be in a bit of trouble. Perhaps Pink instead of Blamires - he did the job on Curnow last year?

Comben - Amartey
Logue - McDonald
Pink - Curnow
Zurhaar - Papley
Parker - Lloyd
Hardeman Rosas

Blamires and Daniel to rotate through half back and wing taking their weakest forward when on.

Logan really doesn't play tall though, hes hardly a jump out of the gym type and is only 195cm not much taller than Lmac. Would back in Lmac to out body him. Unless Swans bring in Ladhams.

Agree with much of that.

Daniel would still be one of our best kicks inside 50 though. Need to play him forward imo.

Also, while you're right that we'd be stupid to let Blakey run around unimpeded, the Kont is like 20cm shorter. Probably the best argument for keeping Lmac in would be for him to play a pure negating role on Blakey. In which case, Hardeman probably gets Papley and Blamires Rosas.

I like the look of the rest of your plan though.

Leave Daniel in and don't bring in Harvey, just move Daniel forward.
