Agreed. As many goals Keays has been scoring in the ressies, with Charlie & Linc there it is much of the same. Wooller offers that link up running forward, ala Crows Lynch, that would improve our structure.

I'm now on board dropping rayner for 2-3 weeks.

Agree whoever comes infor Rayner , they get a chance , a minimum of 3 weeks to show what they can offer in the firsts.
Hodgey to play his 333rd game against his old team, so no other changes.
Replace Rayner with Cutler, Keays or Wooler, take your pick.
We still look a bit slow on the wings , but not sure what to do there.
Cuts would be perfect , although he panicked a bit and some of his hand balls over his head to a dangerous spot might of added to his axing. Would of thought he would still offer more upside than down, but I don't watch the tapes so just going on how I perceive his game and ah I'm no expert.

For what it's worth I think if Lewy and Cuts are back to their best and playing best 22 we would be moving the ball with more fluidity, connectivity and speed, making our ball movement more versitile.
That seems to be a big if, would be awesome imo.

With the focus on defensive pressure in the forward line I think Keays would be the best option to replace Rayner.

I think it's a bit early yet . A few things to consider with a trip to Perth Hodge ? ,possible suspension Matho? , probably one player really under the pump ,Cam, and not really any others under intense pressure to hold their spot this week ,unless for team balance reasons.

I'd be looking to keep us much toe in the side as possible playing Freo over there . I thought Oscar was probably due a spell but to his credit he battled really hard when the chips were down yesterday . Lyons doesn't offer as much offensively as our potential taggers ,just wondering is he much of a tagger ? Probably couldn't compete with Fyfe the way Zorks could.

Whats his running speed like , if he's fairly quick he could make an impact with those other trates.

Only time he'll get swapped out is when Payne or Skinner deserve a crack. Or Ballenden down back, or Marcus Adams maybe?

Going by the streak of debuts, C.Lyons is likely to get the nod ahead of Basti. We are moving forward with the list which implies players like Basti, Christensen will continue to be in reserves unless there is a real need.

As for Rayner I'd prefer to keep him in the team but he may just need a rest (no 2's) to freshen up or be "managed". IIRC we "managed" McCluggage and Berry in their first or second season. This way Rayner can be omitted without it affecting his confidence.

Freo fans are having the same issue with Cerra with most wanting him dropped.

I can see Walker in certain roles but I don't want to see him line up on a powerful KPF again because he doesn't have the strength or competitiveness. But still felt for him because a couple of those decisions were barely there

Walker had a poor game and isn't a star but he shouldn't be dropped yet. Seems an ideal matchup for Taberner who is a one trick pony with contested marking and won't burn walks on the lead.

He was walking behind Galucci n elbowed him in the back of the head..more of glancing blow so Galucci didnt go down but created a melee. Can argue insufficient force but it is not something u want in our game.

Agreed, Wooller has 8cm on Rayner and similar in weight but is playing more minutes around the ground and through the midfield than Rayner. Their tackle count of 2 or 3 a game is about the same. My thoughts, how long can you keep your hand on the head of a kid that is performing in reserves while keeping one in the 1st team based on perceived potential of a high draft pick.
