Reading some comments here I agree bringing cutler back in.

Id go with

Out: rayner (hard to say it), Mathieson (sus),
In: Keays, Cutler.

On another note. The team is starting to look a little inexperienced for my liking with Answerth, Hinge, Keays. SO another part of me thinks we bring back basti. I dont think hodge is ready for a return. My thinking is at the moment Freo are on their knees. Go on their board and their fans don't even give 2 hoots who comes in or goes out. We need a big away win. Bit of experience and polish could go along way to making that happen.

Just went past the Gabba on the way to work and saw J. Berry walking in with a compression bandage over his right knee and a bit of a limp. Hopefully just a knock or something 🙏🏻

Probably be more worried if they weren't limping.

Starting to think with the media pressure starting to build on Rayner he is less likely to be dropped. He is young but more experienced than most of his touted replacements, with a pretty difficult road trip plus the mounting pressure he might be spared another week.

I doubt anyone cares what the media think, most of them are clueless

Hopefully your eyes 👀 deceived you and it was Marcus Adams, not Jarrod Berry! As we already know that he has knee issues and has just been in for another clean up not so long ago.
But if it was Bez let’s hope it is nothing too serious.
On another note: compression bandages do make it quite hard to walk normally!

I'm going out on a limb, sorry Cutler supporters, but for me he doesn't get a run this week. I set out at the start of the year to really watch him in the Resies and try to see what it is that he doesn't do as I also thought he was top 22. To me he seems to dace around the packs waving his arms too much waiting for someone else to do the hard work and if the contested ball is lost he doesn't react quick enough to get the tackle. He reminds me of when Polec was here, just seems at half pace with a no care attitude but that maybe just his personality. Rich this year more than any learned to throw his body in and is AA squad currently I think cutler can use him for inspiration. I just think the Coaches want contested footy players. Rayner a rest for me with Wooller in as his replacement. Matho out and take your pick for the one week fill in - Basti, Lewi and Bundy for experience all been going well. But how many chances to you get so Keays - just maybe, and I watch him play with my son all through juniors. I think from the reserve grade so far the best long term proposition for the wing, flank type roll is Tom Berry he runs hard all day and his tackling and contested footy hurts opposition but may need more time yet. If its a total inside mid then Corey Lyons gets his shot and our team did seem to go better with Matho there on the inside. They might actually try Eli on the long trip he has the bigger body and does seem to like to hurt people, right now I guess he has about the same possession game as Matho but can put a block on for the other mids. The great thing is we have OPTIONS in the last few years it was - "who's available and can walk".

That's really harsh on Cutler.

Watch any of our players for the whole game and you'll see them doing similar things to Cutler at times . Answerth ,Rayner , even Charlie amongst others ,doesn't mean they don't contest when they have to.

I think he's a whipping boy and to me gets back to a lack of confidence by trying to make him something he isn't .

Lots of great teams had players like Cutler who starred . But sick of talking about it tbh. He's not in ,he's obviously not in favor and that's the situation.

Well that's what I've been saying all along but I was so dumbfounded that he was dropped last week that I'll just leave it to the club

I am dumb founded and to how were you so dumb founded? he had a poor game VS the dogs, his composure lacked and his tackling and pressure stats arn't any good. My Mate and me both looked at each other at one stage and said "cutler won't be playing next week". I agree, he could have gotten through and TBH I prefer our team with him in, but this fan lead, defense of Cutler at all costs thing, defies reason sometimes, feels more emotional that people looking at it in black and white.

The only good thing about playing the late Sunday game is that any player carrying a little niggle has that extra 12/24 hours rest. You would be surprised just how much that difference can make. That said being on a long flight to the other side of the country isn't great either.

I like the Sunday games in general. Great way to spend a Sunday if you ask me. But the late slot, flight home etc - hurts us the following week. Saturday game, Hawks coming off a longer break. Not ideal given the length of the trip. Would have prefer to play the Hawks on a sunday again or had the earlier Sunday game so we could at least get home at a reasonable time.

Give me a break Lionsinthesand

'Fan lead , defense of Cutler at all costs thing, ...emotional' .

You've got it wrong .I don't give a tinker's cuss about Cutler . But he was good in the 3 games he played and made a couple of blues against the Dogs. As did many others . But he still contributed a lot better than many others.

I honestly don't want him playing tbh because every trivial thing he does wrong gets highlighted out of proportion. It's not enjoyable when he's playing.

If people focused on every other player like they do Cutler you'd see the same thing from time to time. Plus all the skill errors ,we've got a few who cough it up that way as well . Like all teams

That’s a fair point. It was definitely Bez though, Marcus was walking right next to him without a noticeable limp 😄

There def is an emotional.. 'Fan lead , defense of Cutler at all costs thing' going on. You saying, "I honestly don't want him playing tbh because every trivial thing he does wrong gets highlighted out of proportion. It's not enjoyable when he's playing", is another great example of that. Most fans enjoyed him being back in the side, they praised him. He didn't set the world on fire but he didn't get picked apart by the coaches or fans any measure. He had a bad one against the Dogs and the coaches have sent him back with things to work on (much like Lewy), it's not the end of the world, he just needs to do more of what they are asking.

IMO - he has not produced a whole lot, certainly not enough to warrant the ongoing fan reaction anyway. To suggest it was dumbfounding he was left out after the dogs game is OTT. It might be "a bit of a surprise" but not much more than that. He had a bad game and obviously didn't meet the KPI's the club set for him. I believe Tom has been given something to work on, my guess is.. doing more of the hard stuff, in addition to this, working on his composure and getting a decent amount of the ball - he hasn't nailed those 3 components on many occasions, but when he does, he will be a regular player for us.

I saw Hinge put his head over the ball more times on the weekend than Cutler has his entire career. Cutler to stay out.

Na. Still don't agree .I know what he is ,he's a good player with talent who has deficiencies but I believe his upside outweighs the not so good bits.

I just don't see how he needs to nail 3 components when every player bar 3 or 4 don't do that. I see he was around our 8th rated player on most stats workouts in the Dogs game and that's about where he sat imo.

Mitchell Hinge's game was very impressive, even more so on 2nd viewing, did some really nice things and certainly wasn't caught out by the step up in class and pace.

For years now, I would’ve like to have thought the AFL would schedule our WA game in the round directly before our bye to eliminate such issues; but no, not happened yet.

Yes I think what Mich did was good and he showed composure under pressure on a few occasions . Plus he looks versatile position wise

His composure is what really impressed me. I've noticed that with both he and Answorth. Both don't panic.

He looked like he wanted to get involved, that is what I liked about him, and looked composed under a bit of pressure.

8th best player on the ground VS the Dogs?. It's gonna be hard to see eye to eye on this as we obviously look at Tom through a different lens.

""he's a good player with talent who has deficiencies"- yep spot on. He is also a player that might find himself in and out of a side that is flying, has no injuries, and about 6 players competing for his position.

I feel for Cutler he is an outside receiver with a great kick. Sometimes does not drop the eyes and pick the best target.
I did not think he was super crap in the dogs game he had a few mates who went to sleep.

Although modern footy is all about running both ways and being defensive mid and applying midfield pressure. Not his strongest aspect.
We have other players who seem to be witches hats or jog after people. So not sure that is the only thing Fagan wants changed.
He was given 3 games like others I assume Fagan has a plan
