In: Gawn, Viney
Out: Jones, Vandenburg

Would look at dropping Harmes for Lockhart but I think there's 0% goody drops harmes. This is how I would line up if I was Goody:

B: Rivers, May, Lever
HB: Salem, Tmac, Hibberd
C: Langdon, Oliver, Tomlinson
HF: Melksham, Weid, Petracca
F: Pickett, Jackson, Fritsch
R: Gawn, Brayshaw, Viney
I: Sparrow, Harmes, Sparrow, Spargo
I like TMac up back, but Goody is never going to do it. Like that you put Tomlinson back on the wing. You have listed Sparrow twice.

Great to win against the Roos and agree 100% it is good to win games that in previous years we could easily lose. But, we still have to prove ourselves against a few good teams to work out where we really sit. We have a core group like Jackson, Pickett, Sparrow, Rivers who we need to play and hopefully not stuff them up for the future . If we can get the coaching right and manage out some players eg. Jones, Harmes, etc. we might give the top 6 a shake in a few years . For me the coaching is still our Achilles Heel.

Out: give Jones and Harmes a rest And TMac out for balance.
In: Bennell (if he is any good he needs a good game this week) , Gawn, Viney

Am I the only one thinking Melksham has been poor for a long time now?

I was dumbfounded that they named him captain this week, and he was useless again.

Didn't see the Adelaide game mate?

Was decent against Brisbane also, didn't think he was terrible last night either.

Slowly getting there.

That was Jonesy's best game for the season. He showed some great compsure in the second and third quarters when we desperately needed it. He ain't going anywhere.
I think a lot of that was nobody from North were accountable for him. There was a situation in the second where Polec just let Jones free just outside 50 the ball came to Jones and there was no pressure on him, he hit weid in the square.

Reckon Tomlinson goes out for Lockhart.

Hibberd & Rivers to take the 3rd tall.

Viney, Gawn, Lockhart for Tomlinson, Jones & Tmac

So the same role we recruited Tomlinson for?

Similar but different. TMac has a far bigger aerial presence around the ground than AT does imo. So while Max is playing injured that could be useful.

Melksham has been really good for a month. Experienced player, sets a high standard, passionate and hard at it. Perfect captain material.

he had some very important touches in the 2nd and 4th quarters.

He has lost a few yards of pace, but also he can only kick 45m now and isn't quite sticking within his limitations. I think his role is playing HFF and pinch hit on the wing.

I was surprised to see he's kicked 12 goals as well. Just not getting the ball as much outside 50 and setting goals up like he was a couple years ago. He seems to be doing more opportunistic stuff instead of setting things up. I wonder if that has more to do with the opposition clamping down on him.

Not sure, but I always feel pretty confident when he was the ball in hand.

Admittedly I have not watched many Coll’wood games this year but from what I have seen they have leg speed and are quite strong with their 2 way running. Not exactly our strengths so we will have to be careful with our selection eg TMac on a wing may not be a good idea .

This is the test now.

Just hope your players don't go out thinking it will be as easy as it was against us.

If the dees show up switched on, then I reckon they'll win this and most likely ice a finals berth.

Feel like we'll do better at selection once whoever in charge realises that we have a bunch of guy who while not being tall, are essentially bigs in terms of their limitations. Most of our forward line mid sized guys are like key position players in that they are fairly useless when the ball hits the deck or can only be effective running in straight lines (looking at you AVB)
