Joel Smith is a smokey to play ruck on Saturday. You'd be a mug not to put a fiver on it.

As a supporter of "The Filth", I often wonder how you Bentley-driving, Canterbury private girls school-going, Apres Piste, Moleskin-jacketed bandwagon-jumping, epitomes of fickleness appreciate being able to survive (I know its during the ski season) via Collingwood's largesse.

It is a bit like your personal situation, suckling at the teat of Scomo so you can continue paying rent.

Trickle down economics ;)

so jacksons done a hammy so he's out. so guessing TMac survives ffs

We've been kissed on the dick with injuries so far.

Expecting a few more soft tissue injuries over the next month for sure

True that.
But losing two players who play the same spot still tickles a bit. It's like driving a nice car and then you get a flat and have no spare tyre. Sure, the engine works a dream, the air con is great, the leather seats are comfy, the radio is blaring, GPS is all go, but it's still a bloody bumpy ride.

So is Jackson hammy bad It's on the severe end of the injury. Usually that's around 6 weeks isn't it?

Anyway as mentioned we've been lucky so far with injuries is what it is have to deal with it. Bring in Pruess hopefully TMac can work well with Weid.

At this stage I’m not playing Preuss until he’s fully fit because I’d be pessimistically thinking we might have to play him for the rest of the year if Gawn struggles, so make sure he’s 100% before sending him in. Give TMac another week in the ruck. Not sure if we need Brown to come in for Jackson, stick with Weideman and Fritsch.

TMac prob a better option for Grundy anyway as he'll give Preuss the run around

This is a very good point. If Preuss is fully fit then he comes in, but if there are any lingering doubts then we should make do with TMac for another week.

I would still lean towards bringing in Brown, however I'm not necessarily opposed to playing Fritsch as the second "tall" instead. It also means we could swing Harmes into the forward line where he might actually find some touch.

If I see Weid in the ruck I will actually cry.

I think having two talls is less important than clearing space inside 50 with leading forward, which Weid and Fritsch do well. Don’t know about Brown, but I’d prefer Weid and Fritsch to Weid, TMac and Fritsch for example because adding another tall makes it worse if that tall just lets their defender cramp space. At least if you have a more mobile shorter player in there the defence has a mismatch to worry about when the ball hits the ground.

So typical that we would get all our injuries to the same positions.

Was it 2017 it was rucks and forwards pretty much down to the rookies?

As you said we've been pretty lucky, but we probably have enough depth to work around it this year (providing we don't have 8 more drop out)

It's starting to feel like 2017 again, I fear.

Yep, fair enough, that makes a lot of sense.

To be honest, I don't know enough about how Brown leads for the ball to know how well he would gel with Weid and Fritta.

I think Preuss only played his first scratch match last week. Doubt he will be fit.

I like the idea of bringing Brown in. He knows how to lead and won't f up the forward line. Tmac can ruck and alternate with Brown depending on how much Grundy is smashing the other. This is assuming Max is out again,, which also seems likely.

I can't believe you just called PG a girl. That shit won't stand!
