Playing 1 short is better than playing billy. Trengove could rotate with Tim and give him a break up forward. Only playing 1 tall up forward at the moment so it can work.

We aren’t talking about Gardner getting a game as a kpd ahead of cordy, young and Trengove.
Dale played the second tall forward role last week and the third tall role all season, he’s a lead mark type forward. The logical replacements that are available are gowers or Greene. Gowers being selected is logical it may not be the best player but in terms of like for like it makes complete sense and hard to argue with

Would have thought Dickson a decent replacement for Dale. Seems strange to keep him on the list without even considering him
Granted we could have picked Dickson or McLean instead of Gowers. But bringing in a tall for a wet game is insane.

Why do we think players will just want to up and leave because they’ve been left out for a few games? McLeans only 24 and he’s been out of form for 18mths FFS.
Why wouldn’t us supporters expect him to harden up and fight for his spot. Rather than just expect him to leave.

The only medium forwards we have as potential Dale replacements are Dickson, Greene, and Gowers. Dickson may not be up to it.

He might lack talent. But at least we know Gowers will give 100% effort. He knows his career is on the line. I’m glad he’s in for Dale. Dale’s defensive efforts of late have been below AFL standard and deserves to be dropped.

Interested to see how Porter goes. Hopefully the hype is justified.
Still would have liked to see more experience in the side, e.g. Toby McLean and/or Tory Dickson.
Our quotient of inexperienced and fringe players has likely reached a supercritical level. Hope the young boys bring their A game, because if they don't the senior guys might not be able to pick up the slack.
I think the retention of Lachie Young deserves to be much more contentious than the inclusion of Billy Gowers.
It may have been some time ago but Gowers has played some good football at senior level, and even if things don't always work out for him you know he has a red hot go.

How popular is C.Porter ? Going by video announcing his first game he is popular. Hope the team puts in an extra effort to make it memorable for him.
No it's not necessarily sometimes players come in and take the spot you occupied no matter how you try. In that case looking for
somewhere else with a different list profile is smart. Sports people only have relatively short careers, so optimizing that time or
getting a refresher or hearing a different voice should not attract such negativity. The Bulldogs got rid of more than a few players
who in all reality were probably very happy to stay, you can't have it both ways.

If players have done all they can and still find themselves on the outer, then go ahead and seek other options. Thats not the case for Toby.
I rate him as a player pretty highly but he needs to pull his finger out and hold his spot in the side. He’s got the talent but for the last 18mths has lacked the application.
