Lloyd is still our best pure smaller forward. I expect he will get a go again fairly soon. We cannot carry him and Dale though imo
West is not a forward..No for me on Lloyd.
Has offered zero pressure , while at the same time not getting a kick.
Time to move on from him , dosnt play in front of West.

Not pointing at you maddog, it's just that you've given me a good opportunity to vent ...He looked fit and healthy for a change.
West is not a forward..
He’s another month away I think.
I was thinking about this recently. I reckon our eagerness to declare someone "cooked" comes from a desire to see what the new kids can do. We want to play with the shiny new toys. We recognise that fielding an overly young team is not a good idea but if the older guys are cooked then what choice do we have? I get it, seeing Weightman bang home that banana last night was thrilling, but I think it means we write off some of the more senior players too early so we can get more of it.Not pointing at you maddog, it's just that you've given me a good opportunity to vent ...
Sometimes we get a bit of groupthink here that certain players are either perpetually injured or that they are cooked. A couple of people suggest it and before you know it, it becomes accepted fact.
I get that players DO decline and become more susceptible to injury as they pass 30 but I wouldn't mind if we looked at the evidence before hitting the keyboard sometimes.
Suckling has been victim of that thinking lately but last night showed he was in pretty good nick. Until I hear it from the club I'm not convinced Dickson is completely over the hill either. At the same time that we're talking about leaving these blokes out because they're too old and too fragile we're lamenting that the 22 that runs out is too young and inexperienced.
Some injury-prone players are legit, e.g. Clay Smith's ACLs or Wood's soft tissue injuries - he's struggled with those throughout his career. Blokes like Jong I used to think were plain unlucky and I was waiting for him to get a good run at it, but perhaps he just hasn't got that instinct to stay out of trouble. He seems to use his body as a blunt instrument in the fray. Absolutely fearless, but it has led to quite a few injuries.
Fortunately BF doesn't pick the teams each week. (Our important role is to comment on how stubborn or arrogant Bevo is.)

No problem with this statement - I agree wholeheartedly - but sometimes we hear that a certain well-performed veteran is "not going to be part of our next premiership tilt" so he should be dropped/ignored/delisted.I’d really like to see how Dickson can play this year. If it turns out it’s time for him to be done, I’d love him to make an announced retirement and get chaired off the ground after kicking one last goal. If he’s got more in him, all the better for us.
You're dreaming. The shorter quarters mean a second ruck is a liability and no one is usurping the big chilli after last night. The only way Trengove plays, especially with the way Bevo seems to think is a long injury list. Lewis Young and Gardiner will play before Trengove does.Trengrove is the ideally selected tall in wet conditions. His clearance work in the ruck is pretty good and he is easily the most developed and strong bodied option we have.
Schache had 2 disposals last week. What justifies his inclusion after having beaten the convicted drug cheats quite comprehensively?I’d bring Schache back and give him a good run, would have kicked 5 last night... but I doubt that will happen but please at least play Young. We can not afford to go in without another tall forward.
I loved Clay. I love those hard as nails players. They'll cop anything for the cause. They are a known quantity in that respect. They might make it through the whole game or you might lose them in the first minute because the first minute is no different to the last minute in their thinking and their approach. There's an intangible element to the courage they display to and demand of their team mates. And as the intensity of the occasion increases so does the courage required. Some injury-prone players are legit, e.g. Clay Smith's ACLs or Wood's soft tissue injuries - he's struggled with those throughout his career. The young ones in vanders and Weightman would go, I would reckon. my view is that for this week Vanders may be given a rest for Lloyd if fit. Otherwise, no change. We must win this one.how far is Dunks off? He would lap up these wet dewy conditions in QLD. We are going to have real selection problems when Naughty and Dunks are back. Good problem to have as those two are walk up starts to our team
He looked very proppy in his last game before getting dropped must have been carrying a niggle. His movement was much better in this gameHe looked fit and healthy for a change.
Does bring some pressure and mongrel in the contest. Just has to remember his actual role is to clean up the groundball and not fly for pack marksWest is not a forward..
Where has Rankine been playing High forward or deep forward?? If it's high forward I reckon Crozier gets first crack. There'll need to be real consideration about who to play on Rankine.
Need another tall to split their defenders, Bombers took a lot of defensive marks as we didnt have that second tall so could roll off and intercept. Not sure it is going to happen though.I’d bring Schache back and give him a good run, would have kicked 5 last night... but I doubt that will happen but please at least play Young.
