In: Schache or Lewis Young - Cordy tried against Phillips but we looked horrible when English went for a rest tonight. Dog help us if anything happens to English half way through a game. We don't need to jerk Cordy around. He's doing fine in defence and we'll need him there next week.

Lachie Young may have appropriate physical attributes, but he currently seems to lack the self-confidence required at this level. He clearly struggled again tonight despite being part of a dominant team performance, to select him ahead of McLean again next week would be simply insulting to Toby.

They showed Lachie Young’s running stats at one point and they were off the charts. Works hard, just needs to make it happen. Would keep.

I like Schache and Mclean but they don’t always scream for their spot, so they should wait. Don’t see an obvious out.

Bevo clearly loves Dale. My guess is he’s doing exactly what Bev asks him, regardless of whether it shows on TV or not.

Why the difference in standards for guys like McLean and Schache compared to Lachie Young. Not sure running long distances away from the ball automatically qualifies as working hard either. The boundary umpires probably covered a similar amount of ground tonight and had a similar impact our team's fortunes.

I’d keep him in for sure but Did you watch McLean last week? Was awful.

Our great clearances masked a lopsided forwatdline. Bruce needs support and Schache is basically Dale with more height and harder running.

Williams has been good this year but dropped off the last 2. Some of his disposal tonight was awful, good time for a break. We had too many defenders in tonight, side is more balanced with McLean.

Williams has been outstanding this season. And if you just want to look at last night, he outperformed wood, crozier, young, Cordy, Keath and JJ in defence.

Williams is finally repaying our faith fronk. Gee he’s impressive. Is he the best kick in the side? Not far off it IMO his boot is absolutely lethal

He seems to be doing a lot of work in our press holding up that last kick on the switch making them go back and kick over the mark.

Is that enough to keep him in the side, probably for Bev

Slowing down a sides ball movement is key for how we play, if we can't with the way we press we get burnt out the back i.e Carlton
At least give him one more to see if he has improved or not

Having Crozier, Suckling, Hunter, Young, Weightman et al come into the side in the last two weeks will be invaluable with another short turn around.

Could take one or the other out but not both at the same time. Would rob us of pace which we dont have an abundance of, may alternate resting them.

But this year, work load and player management is huge. Could be as high as 30 to 40% of the selection equation. Macrae had the head wobbles and looked rooted last qtr last night and Libba would deserve special management consideration.

Players who might otherwise be a fair way off selection are likely to get games to help preserve our better players. This year is such a roll of the dice on many fronts and possibly contributing to our jeckyll and hyde performances but i'm kinda enjoying the roller coaster.
