D Merrett needs to be replaced now. He has been a great contributor for the club but playing him from now on is not the way to go. Time to find a new full back.

I agree, Merret was cut to pieces by Kennedy, 5 goals kicked on him yesterday, caught out of position far to many times struggles to read the ball in the air and unfortunately time is catching up with him, He's been a great contributor in the past but with the season over its time to hand over the baton to the younger brigade.

would love to see cian at least get on the field to see what he can do.
matt has been good as well as a defender in the reserves by the reports.
i think they will give archie 1 more season.
trent and claye are in trouble IMO particularly claye if he doesn't cement a spot in the firsts by the end of the season.

agree with most of this but surely Lester has a few credits? Been pretty good all year

I would like him to succeed but when the going gets tough he goes missing. If you cant get a kick at least you can defend. He just won't chase with any conviction. He needs to be made aware that this sort of effort is totally unacceptable. The best way to do this is make him work on his deficiencies in the NEAFL. I was totally disheartened by the ease with which the Eagles strolled out of our forward line for coast to coast goals. I want blood and his stats don't lie. He has shown he can be tough to beat in a one on one but that was when the ball has come to him.

Not that I think he should be dropped but Rocky's output is pretty poor, getting possessions but not doing anything with them. His man making the break consistently out of the centre.

However, I think he is carrying a back injury judging by the brace he was wearing in the game or the ribs are still bothering him. Hanley I am sure has had a groin niggle, but I thought looked better in his movement.

If so, then why is god's name are injured/ineffective players being put on the park week in and week out? It's not finals, where playing your best players, if injured, is something you may do in a mad final push.

Our season is well and truly past it, and playing an injured Rocky/Hanley, when they're unable to perform at their best, does absolutely no good for the players health, nor for the team.

May as well give them the rest they deserve, and give runs to our healthy, younger players.

As I said, it's not finals, so why risk it? Great way to burn guys out for no reward.

Truly we go on about players having loyalty but then act like dogs towards the very blokes who show loyalty. The bloke is doing his best and will come good. he has made massive changes over the pre season and needs time and our support. Wake up Lions and get in behind the lads. We are half way through the season and with 1 win and now season ending injuries starting to occur it's looking real grim.

In : Mcstay for Harwood. Green for Keays who needs a rest. Matho for Cutler who wont play it seems. Andrews sounds like he may miss again.

After the bye we really only have Cutler and Andrews to come back in. Imagine we will have a look Hammelman at some stage and maybe Clayton and Skinner. Can't wait for the draft about all we Lions fans have to look forward too.
