Hutchings was probably our worst midfielder on the weekend i thought.

Killed our momentum so many times with stupid decisions, mistakes and poor kicks. Tip of the hat if he locked down Shiel though, i didn't notice a hard tag.

Sheed needs to come back but i'm on the fence over dropping Hutchings when he could potentially be used to curtail Martin.

Bont, Cripps

Neither of them really play on anyone though.

Yeo will stand next to Fyfe at the centre bounce then man him up forward and beat him there as well. All while picking up 10-15 contested possessions every week. It's such a luxury to have a guy like that in your team.

I reckon you’ll find the majority of Richmond supporters will be expecting to lose this week. I don’t think it would be a bad thing either. Keeps us grounded and losing away trips to Adelaide and Perth is no real issue.
It will be a good game just dont want any injuries mate haha. This is going to be a dog fight of a game cant wait

Shuey just done a little video. Will be running by end of the week. Sunday game helps. That would be 2 weeks in time since the last game. Reckon hes a chance for friday fitness test.
They will probably be conservative and give him another week.

Ins: Jetta, Petch, Gov and Nic Nat

Sheed if it yes for sure

Didn't some say Ainsworth's kicking is not up to AFL standard yet? Wouldn't he be the likely candidate out for sheed, if fit?
IF SHeed is not fit then yes he goes out

Sheed in out Ainsworth
Petch in out Nelson
Jetta in out Hutchings
Gov in out Schofield
NN in out Fraser Mac

Achee stays actually played well

Better suited to tagging Cotchin imo

You're right, i think i like that match up better.

Although Martin hasn't been in great form this year and just got shutdown again by Jacobs, to he's definitely ripe for a tag IMO.

I think this is the first time I've posted on an opposition board - I come in peace.

I can't believe this is a 1st vs 2nd game and I'm not overly concerned about losing. Everyone wrote WCE off in the pre-season (me included) and good on them for proving the naysayers wrong - Simpson deserves a lot of credit.

Hopefully its a cracking game with no injuries :thumbsu:

... Obviously hopeful the Tigs get up but overall, would love for both teams to finish top 2 and secure home QF's.

I am in a different boat from most in that I don't think we should tag Martin, rather, back our guy (most likely Yeo) to hurt him the other way.

According to his heat map, this year Dusty is getting 95% of his possessions forward of center, which means whilst he can be an offensive weapon, he can be hurt the other way because he isn't defending.

Roll the dice and back our midfield Group to win the stoppages and endeavor to hurt him by running hard toward goal when we get the ball

Don't understand the view that Petch is an automatic in? He has a shocking first game and a marginally better second, but everyone wants him in vs the premiers.
Ainsworth has an infinitely better debut and almost unanimously gets called to be dropped.

There’s only like 2 people asking for Petch to come back in

Assuming players are 100% fit - don't want underdone blokes out there this season.

Out: Fmac, Schoey, Nelson/Cole

In: Naita, Gov, Jettydardz

B: Hurn, Barrass, Shepp
HB: Duggle Gov Jetta
C: Masten Redden Ainsworth
HF: Waterman Darling Lecca
F: Cripps Kennedy Rioli
R: Naita Yeo Gaff

I: Hutchings, Lycett, Ah Chee, Nelson/Cole

If a midfielder goes for Sheed I would look at Ainsworth to go before Hutch.
Simply for the fact that Ainsworths disposal (reportedly, I haven't had the chance to watch the entire game) by foot was bad. Tigers do a lot of damage on turn overs. Hutch is also a good option if we decide to tag and with their midfield, you would think we would put some work into at least one of their guns.
While I've stated before and I stand by it, that I don't like to see first gamers dropped after just 1 game so their confidence isn't shot, I think this is a little different in that Ainsworth probably realises he got a gig as cover for a week and probably had no expectations of an extended run just yet. Making way for a bloke like Sheed probably wont damage him mentally.

I'd drop Ainsworth so Hutchings can follow Cotchin when he's on ball. I don't feel like we'll go the hard tag though.

Agreed. Ainsworth's disposal isn't adequate at this stage.

Without Shuey being available, I would hold Hutchings to tag Cotchin.

In: Naitanui, McGovern, Sheed, Jetta

Why is losing away no real issue ?
Do you believe your team is so good you wont have to travel during finals ?

We will beat the Tigers at home. I reckon we have their measure.

Without Shuey it will be tough. He's our prime mover at stoppages and a player who gives us the most offensive momentum.

Defensively we'd be at full strength if McGovern and Jetta come back in, that will help our ball movement and drawing in players like Masten who are on the slower end of the spectrum and need precision kicking for them to accumulate the ball.

We really need Kennedy to start hitting his straps soon. He's got a huge defensive role to play in closing down Rance IMO.

It's so long since we played Richmond at the MCG last year. We kicked ourselves out of that game and Richmond haven't turned back since.
