8 man bench named, tomorrow afternoon 4 will be selected on the bench, with the other 4 as emergencies.

Then 90 minutes before the bounce teams are finalised - this is when an emergency may replace a named first 22 player.
Confused myself with interchange/emergencies.(the wines kicking in?) Just worked it out and deleted, my bad...yep, i know an emergency usually replaces a late out (or ducks+drakes)
Ok Cheers!
so sheed, jetta, archie, waterman...but sheed or jetta might be an out? =ainsworth/mutimer?
just call the first four as my wish list!...and i'll shut up!

Just read Ainsworths description of his first game.
Makes for interesting reading.
Said he started in the middle for the first bounce and it was organised that Yeo and Redden would block to enable him get the first clearance so that he was able to inject himself into the game from word go.
How good is that. And people winge about our player development.
One of the best things I’ve heard all year.

Gaff has been sore, one of Jetta or Sheed may not play.

Out: McInness, Schofield, Gaff

In: Naitanui, McGovern and Jetta.
Gaff plays sore a fair bit- I think he gets up. Seems to have a ridiculous pain threshold. Jetta we’ve been ultra conservative with given the history of calf injuries so I think he’s good to go.

As for Gov, I don’t think we take any chances with him. It would be ideal to play him and get the win, but he’s too important to risk in round 9 if there’s any chance of him missing more weeks because we rushed him back.

That is absolutely quality from those senior boys. Just went back and watched the opening bounce again. Yeo executed it to a T. Redden not so much :P

Club thinks he is a midfielder
Mutimer has been rewarded for a solid body of work with East Perth and has good claims as a strong-bodied midfielder.
From having a weak midfield for a few years before this season - to not picking up expected midfielders at draft - we've suddenly become a midfield production factory..? It's all Good!

Mutimer might just be taking a turn as a standby?

Doesn't make a lot of sense otherwise, on form you'd think there's at least half a dozen other smalls ahead of him.
I find it a bit perplexing also.
It might be a simple as the coaching group have had him working on areas of his game and being picked as an emergency is reward for achieving improvements.

Seems this year they have been using the 4th EMG spot for that reason with Bayok, Rotham & Watson all being that 4th EMG.

Gaff is sore but i would rest him for the home Saints game and let him have a well deserved 2 week rest. He is a tough little bugger and should be able to push through the next two weeks.

that's how I read it, a reward for effort, you get a mention on the emergency list.
but they might still have a preferred player for a role coming through eg- Ainsworth or Ahchee,
but for those on the outer with slimmer chances of a regular game, it acts as an incentive,
and keeps that depth pushing up...?

Surely if they want to give someone a 'token emergency' spot to make them feel special they can at least pick Partington.

He's only played one game in the past month due to injury and then the bye.

And in that game he had 29 touches, 5 marks, 2 tackles and kicked 1.2

Mutimer on the other hand had 13 touches, 2 marks, 2 tackles..

Which one looks more deserving of a token emergency spot? If Parto is underdone, what does that say about Kurts form? I couldn't care less TBH, just find the Mutimer inclusion odd. It might just be a rotation thing like Dajesmac has said, in which case there's sense in Parto missing out.
