Not much in the way of foot speed in that back 6.

Really don't think we should be taking any risks with players carrying injuries or a lack of fitness, so no to Ziebell, Anderson & Thomas.

Out: Macmillan, Thomas, Campbell & Ahern.
In: Murphy, Wood, Xerri & Bonar.

Macmillan and Campbell offer more (but not much more) than Murphy and Xerri, but really want to give Murphy a good crack to see if he can make the grade and need to keep pumping games into Xerri.

Wood to come in for Thomas, which may actually make things a bit easier on Xerri as well.

Ahern or Bonar is much of a muchness, but I'd prefer Bonar, if only to give him a few games as well before we do get the likes of Cunnington, Ziebell and Anderson back in the team.

Don't see any point in putting games into Xerri unless he is going to play substantial time in the ruck. He is not a forward. Goldy basically rucks the whole game so Xerri needs to bide his time.

Was interesting to see them play dusty mainly forward last week despite them missing Prestia and Cotchin

if they do that again maybe Lmac tags Lambert in the midfield

We don't have to tag if no one is damaging enough to tag.... McDonald could just go to dusty in defence like he did with Greene?

Errrr dusty martin says hi....................mcdonald to dusty, similar size, a good learning curve for MCD to take on a truly explosively powerful mid who could go forward and kick bags of goals. The pieces are starting to get together. Key backline players are in order, center square still the biggest problem but MCD settling as the tagger would go a long way to sort out the jacobs conundrum. The two flanks are still very solid. If we can somehow get another to do Simpkin then the whole team starts flowing again. It's only a matter of time before the footy juice gets back into circulation and the forward line delivery improves.
