He played football all through juniors and school footy at Xavier until he was 18. He only missed two seasons while playing elite standard cricket.
He was also training with the VFL team (not sure how frequently, but he was) with a view to becoming a VFL listed footballer for some time before we officially nominated him as a Cat B. It wasn't as if we taught him the rules of footy in a week and put him on the field.

Strange one Marra did not injured last Saturday but had a quiet game even allowing for the goal he pinched off Bailey Dale. Hopefully nothing serious listed as a knee.

Sounds like Marra & Bont are good to go, no JOD on the track today unfortunately - hopefully he at least plays tomorrow. Doc & Poulter in the 23 from the looks of things.

Wonder if the Bulldogs sport scientists think resting players like Bont,Treloar and Libba if carrying niggles is beneficial. Macrae used to be an all Australian midfielder. .love to see the challenge taking on Bonts role .And Garcia or West in Libbas role for the same reasons. Wouldn't like it for the same week. But the season is a marathon and a lot of teams rest older players.

Bulldogs midfielder Jack Macrae headlines a pair of inclusions for Sunday’s clash against West Coast at Marvel Stadium on Sunday.

Senior Coach Luke Beveridge confirmed the three-time All Australian would be in the starting 22, rewarded for his dominant 46-disposal performance for Footscray last week.

Taylor Duryea comes into the side for his first game of the 2024 season, replacing the injured Ed Richards.
Oskar Baker
has earned a promotion from the sub vest and will play, with the winger recording 19 touches and three goals off the bench against Gold Coast.

Nick Coffield (shoulder) and Ed Richards(concussion) will miss the clash due to injury.

Sam Darcy, Caleb Poulter and Caleb Danieljoin Macrae and Duryea on the bench with one of the five set to be named sub an hour before the bounce.

Bouncedown will be 1pm local time, with the game live streamed on Fox Footy and Kayo.

Bulldogs’ fans will be welcomed back to Marvel Stadium for the first time in 2024 on Easter Sunday, with the red, white and blue travelling to Ballarat for last week’s victory.

Only Darling though? Allen is out.
Tall forwards for wet toast will not be our issue.

Would have preferred Garcia to Poulter in any position every day of the week, but that is not in any way going to influence the result of this game.

Turn up with last week's attitude we win comfortably, turn up with last year's against them attitude it is game on.

The selected team should win comfortably
