I wouldn't be so sure to be honest. It's not like the cattle between round 5 (Anzac Day) and the round 19 game on the weekend was completely different (anyone care to double check?, I can't be bothered).

Endeavour, a better side, game plan, off field distractions all factors in the loss.

If we can come out with some attitude and arrogance (we play better when we want to win - who doesn't) I would expect a win.


I wouldn't do that. Stanton isn't an explosive linebreaker like Dempsey or Hibberd, nor does he possess the pace to slice up a zone like Demps' does best.
As I mentioned this earlier in the thread, Alex Browne has now played a couple of games in a row on the return from injury. Seems to be moving freely and working hard to get his hands on the footy (23 versus Sandringham, 30 versus Bendigo & 9 in limited playing time versus Casey) so the intent is there. Moving with freedom, he hasn't really 'dominated' any games, more a few moments of brilliance here, a special moment there but the talent is shown for all to see.
People often say he has only played x amount of games or he is in his 3rd year on the list but he has ALL the attributes to become a very good player. A combination of speed, skill, aggression, a touch of class and as mentioned a real line breaker as well.

I reckon we can turn our form around quickly. Bomber T alluded to a heavy training load recently. A lot of guys looked physically tired and the mental issue is also there. I'm concerned this training load contributed to dempsey's injury. The rain conspired against us really as well. Zaharakis - back fractures, Goddard - broken finger, Watson - collarbone were all going to be tentative going for hard balls in wet conditions - each week their injuries will get better. Adding to this Hocking still gaining match fitness as well. One of our best wet weather players in Howlett was somehow running around in the VFL...

We carried some passengers as well - it is evident at matches that Jetta simply does not run hard enough and present as an option. Dell'Olio try's harder but doesn't have the fitness for AFL. Wishing Duscher was on our list as he'd be playing at present if he was...Jetta should never play for Essendon again for mine.

Browne is a much more free wheeling runner rather than a lock down type. Could be the reason he is still in the twos.

Browne will strt across half back but I can see him ending up as a midfield rotation or a genuine midfielder much the same way that Heppel worked his way from half back flanker to fully fledged midfielder.

Need to get rid of the players who consistently fail to have league standard impact on games in addition to trying to get the balance right again.

I'm not at all sure that Colyer and Jetta should be in the same side unless it is absolutely necessary because when it goes wrong it is bloody awful. Jetta was slightly better against the Pies but Colyer has had a better month of footy. Colyer would want to sharpen up his act though because it is games like the one against Collingwood, where he has no physical impact on the contest whatsoever, that is what TRB despises (it has always been more of an issue than his disposal). Jetta is at least putting in a lot of work defensively.

What the **** happened to Winderlich? They said he was a bit sore about a month ago, and we haven't seen him since, with the occasional update saying he's still sore. Did he get caught smoking a joint with Buddy or something? Will we get 11 players out for 2 years next week with 'soreness' as well?

Don't think he will play will he? He was a late withdrawal last week and the Injury update on the AFL website lists him as only a slim chance to return. Agree though he is there most important midfielder, killed us in round 14
