VDM might have missed a few with injury and has worn the vest a couple of times but he still hasn't been omitted since he came into the side in the middle of 2023. That's 53 games played without getting dropped. He probabaly wouldn't even be able to spell VFL these days, let alone know where it was.

Don’t mess with the 3 tall KPD structure that is working and allows flexibility. And don’t replace Buss with Jones who has looked like he went a year too long or Gardner who is just woeful.

Rest isn't always best. We just had a 10 day break so he should be fine. Sub him at 3 qtr time to save a bit in the tank for Freo if we really think he needs it. There's a bye before finals if we sneak into the 8.

The Treloar conundrum

I've gone on record several times saying it's too risky to play Treloar in a final. I'm not shying away from that but if we do decide to play him this week (or even the following week), perhaps you can limit the risk by:

1. Naming him as the sub
2. Playing him forward with only very minimal time in the midfield

This scenario could also potentially apply to next season if we extend his contract another year.

If he doesn't get named to play this week despite being cleared to play, it would suggest to me he isn't in our September plans which I don't mind. Garcia has shown he is more than capable and I'm not confident a 2025 Treloar is any better than Garcia. Harsh but IMO fair based on body of work and how limited Treloar currently is.

Dolan has too much class to be playing in the twos. In for McNeil.

Davo runs all day, just like VDM, but doesn't continually hold up play then gift the opposition the ball. In for VDM.

Harmes, if okay, in for Poulter.

Was going to be on the more difficult side anyway IMO,

I have zero interest in seeing Treloar get midfield minutes this season
Our mix is working well and the last thing I want to add is a low pressure type.
Happy to see him on a wing or half forward if he is fit and can actually sprint 100%

re Busslinger, be interesting discussion this week...against Box Hill amongst Gardner, Jones and Coffield..Gardner stood out, but would they risk selecting him again...maybe Buku gets another look

I like Croft, Hynes and Sellwood for the future but not now we close to the end. Unless Bevo wants to rest someone and give Croft or Sellwood a taste against WCE

Sellwood had a big game in the VFL, could he break through?

Dolan for Vanders is my predicted change. But Dolan has been in and out a few times now, and has had less possessions, goals and tackles at AFL than Vanders, so its a risk of giving us less at the small forward role than Vanders.

I thought Poulter was solid in that final quarter, I think he is better as a forward than Davidson was when he was used in the pocket (in terms of positioning and ground ball). We need experienced heads, heading into the finals. Can't be playing too many kids.

Actually prefer Harmes back in the team as our only change. Shame he has been hit hard by the flu.

Harmes missed the VFL game due to illness. No way we'd rush him back in even if he was ok.

I'm guessing Davidson for VDM, only change. Dolan and Hynes knocking the door down though.
