I reckon Crock stays in until Elliott or Fasolo are ready to replace him. Has a specific role IMO.

I have a feeling that’s correct.

Darling only stands 191cm so can be taken by the existing defenders in the 22.

If we believe Kennedy will be back then send Mihocek to defence and give McLarty an opportunity up forward.

Moore had an achilles concern during the off season and has now done his hamstring twice.

He first needs to prove fitness and find form at the lower intensity level of VFL before being considered for AFL selection IMO.

Moore and Elliott are going to be crucial to our chances of beating Richmond and by extension winning the flag so I hope we don't rush either and look at the bigger prize on offer than this weeks 4 points.

We can beat the Eagles in Melbourne without Moore.

The VFL has the bye. We wouldn't see Moore return for three weeks at least if you apply that standard for a return. I'd be inclined to send him back into the AFL team if he has the medical go ahead. Which he should given he just played VFL. Moore is just as likely to do his hammy at VFL level you'd think so i'm not convinced the injury risk is any greater one scenario or the other.

That's the problem, from what I see he seems fairly fit and willing to really work. I think his main job is to really lead hard into spaces and create holes in our forward line. That way he is also that first line of defence for kicks coming out ("the wall").

Could easily replace him with someone who has more impact on the scoreboard, unfortunately both our main replacements just aren't quite ready.

Le Cras just had surgery. No chance.

Apparently he was marking freely at training, and he has a history of returning early from injuries. That said, when he has returned early he usually hasn't played great and I doubt we want to bring 4 back from injuries in one hit. I'd prefer that we left him out. Also, his good form this season has come from increased tackle numbers...tackling is a lot harder on the wrist than marking.

Hopefully this is a cracker of a game and we aren't blown away early as has happened a few times in the past. I'm looking forward to seeing Grundy/Pendles/Adams/Sidebottom v Nic/Yeo/Shuey/Gaff. You have us covered there (even without Treloar), but it will still be a good contest i think.

Will De Goey spend much time in the midfield? I haven't been able to watch many Pies games this year. The last full game I saw was the QB against the Dees and he seemed to be in there a fair bit.

If I was in charge...they are the changes I would make.
However, I think they will follow the plan & allow Moore to complete his “block” prior to resuming in the AFL.

Kennedy and Darling are still listed as 1-2 weeks away on the AFL website. I'd be very surprised if both came in for an interstate game after what? A month off footy?

They are gonna be severely underdone if you bring them in.

Smith vfl bog first game back so I'd slot him straight back in. Also Oxley listed as 2nd bog and has been in best for a few weeks, marking defender needed and if not going to give him a try now, when? Perfect time to pick him.

Moore not sure if one game back is enough. Also Varcoe needs to be starring in the 2's which he isn't yet.
