They should be available for AFL selection by round 19 v Richmond.

Eventhough we have had to contend with a long list of injuries during the season so far, it may well be a blessing in disguise. We could have a fresh Elliott, Moore, Aish, Fasolo, Reid and even Treloar coming into the finals. Most of these guys have hardly played this year, Elliott not at all, so no sore bodies or little niggles for them come finals.

He’s been an emergency for about a month, and he hasn’t had a chance at senior level this year. When he first came on the scene there was some excitement about him, so I wouldn’t be devastated if he was picked. I mean, Mayne saved his career, why not Oxley?

I hate Sunday arvo games because the missus complains about it taking away all if not most of our Sunday afternoon.

Although Saturday arvo is worse with my own footy to play

Get a new missus. My boyfriend and i sometimes watch every game on the weekend or listen. Weekends in winter are for footy. We go to just about all of his essendon games and to all of the pies games together.

Oh poor you - we have Sunday arvo (home) games from now until the end of the season and have had stupid many thus far.

On to the game, I think we'll get pumped, we are rubbish at the G since 2006 for whatever reason and even if we get half our forward line back we'll be underdone.

It would be Daicos (Elliott), Mayne (Treloar) and Murray (Aish) for mine.

Personally I like the idea of Varcoe coming off half back both for his run and his elite disposal by foot - that would leave us with a line up of:

B - Maynard Moore Howe
HB - Varcoe Scharenberg Crisp
C - Treloar Pendlebury Phillips
HF - Hoskin-Elliott Mihochek Sidebottom
F - Elliott Cox Stephenson
R - Grundy Adams DeGoey
INT - Thomas Langdon Aish Sier
Emerg - Mayne Murray Brown Reid

I'd be pretty happy with that lineup personally.

If anything I think we have lost the advantage we had at Subi, the wider pockets make it easier for extraction no doubt but locking it into the forward half has become harder.
