Fully fit players to choose from, Goldy and Fas miss out too?It would be Daicos (Elliott), Mayne (Treloar) and Murray (Aish) for mine.
Personally I like the idea of Varcoe coming off half back both for his run and his elite disposal by foot - that would leave us with a line up of:
B - Maynard Moore Howe
HB - Varcoe Scharenberg Crisp
C - Treloar Pendlebury Phillips
HF - Hoskin-Elliott Mihochek Sidebottom
F - Elliott Cox Stephenson
R - Grundy Adams DeGoey
INT - Thomas Langdon Aish Sier
Emerg - Mayne Murray Brown Reid
I'd be pretty happy with that lineup personally.
If you read that article you would see the AFL has already reneged on the MCG deal a few weeks after making promises to non Vic clubs so why would I trust that we would even get a home Prelim ?So if WCE got a Prelim final, you would be ok with playing it at the MCG and not at home?
Because that was one of the conditions of the MCG deal i.e. Prelims played at home grounds and not at the MCG

Moore and Murray for WHE and Appleby
Fully fit players to choose from, Goldy and Fas miss out too?
Really like your team but wondering your thoughts.
Agreed with regard to the Fas. Been hard for him to get a gig even before now. Would you trade the Prince whilst still has a little currency?I went for "depth" with the bench players and emergencies and tried to have at least one option in each area of the ground (back, midfield, forward) for both quartets.
Personally Ive always liked what Fas brings to the table, but he's not pushing out WHE, Stephenson, Elliott or Sidey in the forward line and Fas wouldn't fit anywhere else so it'd be down to a choice between him and JT on the bench.
I'd have to go with JT in that case as he's a bit more versatile and can rotate through the middle if needed even if he might not have as much of an impact as a forward - it's probably a reflection of our new found glut of small forwards that Fas would be on the outer in the end.
Goldy is a tricky question if he was fully recovered from his ACL and match fit - given we've lost Dunn as he would be an option on opposition tall forwards and could go forward himself, so it would be a choice between him and Mihocek.
I didn't throw him in there though as I'm not counting on him making it back in time even with all the positive reports - he's only 16 weeks removed from surgery and I can't see him making it back onto the field in a competitive football match before the end of the regular season (which would rule him out for finals as well imo as I'd guess that he would be heavily underdone from a match fitness perspective).

Great assessment and agree someone will miss out. Those names you mentioned are most likely too.I think we, as supporters, need to take some lessons from 2010. In that run to the flag we won 9 on the fly and some fan favs/ best 22 types (Lockyer, Fraser, Medhurst and O’Bree) were sitting on the sidelines for much of it. If we’re to be a chance this year the same will be the case, IMO.
The two that are almost zero chance are Fas and Goldy. We then have Reid who has not only been replaced, but by the time he returns will have played just 1 match in the previous 3 months so he’s a whisker above the other two who have have a combined 40 AFL minutes between them in 2018. The next two in Aish and Elliott are one setback away from being non factors there is a role for them though if they get there. Moore and Varcoe are the two currently outside the 22 and would confidently say will work their way back even with another setback because they either have a defined role that isn’t currently filled (Moore) or are match hardened (Varcoe).
The wildcard is Treloar. I get the distinct impression that barring a setback to the hammy that didn’t require surgery he’ll get back. It will be touch and go obviously, but I think he’ll greatly benefit from the bye pre-finals. What frightens me most is that the match committee decide to go with guys that are limited and are returning from setbacks specifically Smith and Blair. They’re solid options if the first group of guys struggle, but they really need to be last resort, IMO, and I fear they’re in the frame. Smith most likely...
In terms of our selection this week I believe they’ll dictate it and here’s my stab at it:
Darling - yes
Kennedy - no
Le Cras - no
Barrass - yes
Simpson and co are foxing, IMO, and it’s going to dictate our selection. Howe, Scharenberg and Langdon isn’t enough coverage for Kennedy, Darling and Lycett so they’ll force our hand on Moore if both get up.
The intrigue for me is that both clubs are doing it and it’s a small taste of what we can expect in the bye week pre-finals. I love it!
Agree.I know you're tongue-in-cheek, but one thing is for sure....some moron will link this to losing (if we lose).
I'm completely non-superstitious, so it doesn't bother me at all....like a bloke shaving his beard will have any outcome on the result.
Wills won't make the extended bench with his hammy.Remember folks, tonight is our almost weekly routine of add the extended bench which is plus four.
Assuming now, that Will H-E does play, meaning that Appleby is only sure out.
Hence five additions.
Of those perhaps one more will come in meaning a player or two is very vulnerable in my view:
Extended bench starting with the plus five then adding the remaining three (the two first named are vulnerable).
Really unsure if Varcoe is considered ready. But I’ll take a stab and say he is.
McLarty would only be named if Moore is not at all ready but doubt he’d get the call up all the same.
Interchange:
Moore, Wills, Brown C, Murray, Varcoe
Crocker, Daicos, Greenwood.
Out: Appleby (injured)
On Saturday night I’d expect
In: Moore, Varcoe
Out: Appleby (injured) Crocker
I wonder when the "match simulations" are going to take place. Presumably that will be sometime well before Sunday. Who does participates in that will show our hand. And my guess is Darcy will be one of them.Remember folks, tonight is our almost weekly routine of add the extended bench which is plus four.

The players that were “left behind” in 2010 should also include Holland?I think we, as supporters, need to take some lessons from 2010.
