NO run lasts forever, and the longer it goes the closer you get to the game that breaks the run - that goes for their G record and our winning streak. I think we've had a relatively easy run for our winning streak and not yet proven that belong in 2nd place, next few weeks will decide starting tomorrow.
I can foresee that move happening at half time.
IF DArcy can't stop Kennedy will Mihochek do any better? May find out tomorrow. coud even have them both in defense if necessary and probably still have an effective forward line.

As I have said earlier I am more confident of winning this game than I was last week.

West Coast have had two wins in Melbourne this year, one against Hawthorn at Etihad and the other against Carlton at the MCG. The game at the MCG was a 10 point win against Carlton. In that game Lecras was the best forward with Darling kept goalless and Kennedy slotting one goal. This bodes well for our side particularly seeing as Darling and co haven't played for three or so weeks. It's possible, but coming onto the MCG and kicking a bag at a ground you don't do well at is unlikely. Lecras is the danger man, therefore, if we can nullify him we should win comfortably.

Even if we can't nullify Lecras, I believe we have the better midfield and this has been the backbone of our wins this season. I don't buy into this "gotta lose one eventually" mentality. That is bullshit. You lose games through poor effort and lack of work rate.

In their other games they have largely spanked teams at Optus stadium including Richmond. It's clear as day that West Coast don't do as well in Victoria as they do in WA. Can this be overturned? Sure it can, but history says no and mostly likely not against a team that is great form. Keep in mind they managed small victories against two Melbourne sides not in the greatest of touch at the time.

They lost their key fowards and this was telling with a run of three losses. Their next win was 11 points against GWS at home without these forwards. But can we really rate GWS? I'm not so sure.

Am I saying West Coast can't win? Absolutely not. Their forward line is potent and they are definitely a chance. Will they win? I don't think so. I think if West Coast win tomorrow it will be because we have dropped off on our work rate which would lead to Darling and co. having a field day. It's as simple as that. We are a high pressure/work rate team. This goes off 20-30% and the other team can execute their game plan much more easily. If we don't drop off we win because Darling and co. won't score as much and as we have seen they are a 30 point better side with them in.

Nevertheless it will be a intriguing contest but I am expecting us to get the job done. If we lose then so be it and I will be praising the Eagles on their great win.

I'm also going pretty good in my tipping this year. ;)

Pretty good team lining up this week.

Only Treloar/Elliott missing from a best possible 22.

Brown, Aish, Murray, Fasolo providing depth options in the near term.

Reid and Appelby in the longer term.

Dunn and Wells no longer in discussion for 2018.

More worried about the body strength of Darcy in a one-on-one contest.

Confident he has the height to get hands and spoil if he can stay in it though. Just reckon Mihochek with a more mature body can handle a wrestle with WCE forwards.

But if both played in the backline I reckon that could suit. Swing Greenwood FWD and have him drag a defender and create space.

I think we can win. But I'd be a hell of a lot more confident if Treloar, Elliott, Reid, Dunn & Wells were in the side.

We have shown we can cover for all these players. Wells and Reid aren't necessary and the other three we have been able to replace.

It's nice to have that flexibility if needed.

A fit Reid could be really handy especially with Dunn down. Someone that can stop a player but also launch counter attacks with that left peg. I understand the skepticism because he hasn't played back in awhile and when he last did he looked short of a gallop (he was a fresh returnee from injury that day). But I wouldn't be quick to dismiss him either.

Mihocek is also a booming kick which suits our style of play where we try to exit the defensive 50 decisively and deeply. But I reckon he stays forward unless our hand is forced and one of our defender is either injured or getting a bath.

He is also a Accurate Set Shot for Goal. Finally a Pies Tall Forward that is

You don't rate Aish and Dunn as a best possible 22?

Sigh, really...?

1. Round 10 2011 vs Collingwood. Collingwood win by 52 points. 4 goals between the three of them.
2. Qualifying Final 2011 vs Collingwood. Collingwood win by 20 points. 4 goals between them.
3. Preliminary Final 2011 vs Geelong. Geelong win by 48 points. 5 goals between them.
4. Round 3 2013 vs Melbourne. West Coast win by 94 points. 13 goals between them.
5. Round 2 2014 vs Melbourne. West Coast win by 93 points. 9 goals between them.
6. Round 12 2015 vs Richmond. West Coast win by 20 points. 7 goals between them.
7. Grand Final 2015 vs Hawthorn. Hawthorn win by 46 points. 2 goals between them.
8. Round 2 2016 vs Hawthorn. Hawthorn win by 46 points. 4 goals between them.
9. Round 17 2016 vs Carlton. West Coast win by 7 points. 4 goals between them.
10. Round 19 2016 vs Collingwood. Collingwood win by 19 points. 6 goals between them.
11. Round 3 2017 vs Richmond. Richmond win by 11 points. 6 goals between them.
12. Round 5 2017 vs Hawthorn. Hawthorn win by 50 points. 5 goals between them.
13. Round 5 2018 vs Carlton. West Coast win by 10 points. 4 goals between them.

I miscounted on my phone. They've played 13 games at the MCG altogether. 5 wins, 8 losses. Averaging just over 6 goals between them as a trio.

They've never beaten Collingwood at the MCG with all three playing, averaging just less than 5 goals between them.
Wow, kudos to you, I wouldn't have guessed. To be fair, up until this year, Darling has played second fiddle to JK. This is the first year they have both been consistently making contributions to the score board.

I hope they drum "punch, punch , punch" into Darcy's head. He has the pace and athleticism to be in a position to spoil against any forward in the league. No showboating, no speccies-just close down your opponent defensively. Please.

Ahhhh...can we at least have 1 or 2 showboating acts ?

That particular battle will be won or lost in the midfield (funny that) - if Eagles mids are given the time and space to regularly put well-weighted balls out in space for Kennedy (and Darling) to lead into then nobody is stopping them.

The focus this we would definitely be on how we structure up and cutting off that space to lead into / getting the third man to as many contests as possible.

Having said that I still feel like we have enough firepower to win even if the Kennedy and Darling get off the chain a little (historically it is a fairly regular occurrence to have those two kick 7-8+ goals between them and the eagles still lose here in Victoria) - we definitely need to get off to a good start though and not have any extended lapses in the game like we have been over the past 4-5 weeks.

The last (&only) draw was 1990 qualifying final...after the bell...Peter Sumich was kicking to win the match...he missed, 1 point...so a draw...see y’all again next week.

If my memory serves me correctly, we played another draw ....also a final.....but because of the 1990 game the rules had changed re draws in finals. And we won that in extra time!!!

I would have Moore on the resting ruckman Lycett or Nic Nat
Mihocek on Kennedy
Scharenberg on Darling
Langdon on Waterman
Maynard on LaCras
