Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
Greenwood would play as a mid/fwd in my changes. That might be too many defenders. Moore, Shaz, Howe, Langdon, Crisp, Maynard, Murray, Greenwood.
I'd consider Murray for Greenwood (who has been playing mostly defence) because we have lacked some run since Treloar has been out.
If WHE is right i'd go
IN: Moore, Varcoe, Murray
OUT: Appleby, Crocker, Greenwood.
Crocker kicked 5 but that doesn't make him any less useless at AFL level.Well Kicked 3 in the VFL and Looked Good Doing It

Yep, Crocker appears to be a weakness at AFL level.Crocker kicked 5 but that doesn't make any less useless at AFL level.
We're really starting to have some passengers. Crocker, Appleby, Greenwood (who was okay), Mihocek and Thomas were quiet. Sier didn't have much impact, neither did Mayne. WHE because he was injured.
Not sure we can keep it going with all these guys in the team at once. But we don't have much choice at the moment. So it'll be a slow transition back to out A team.
Out: Appleby (injured), Crocker (who needs a change in position if he's going to play AFL for any length of time. Needs to take Mayne's position, really.)
In: Varcoe, Moore if fit. If not, then Crocker stays in.
I respect a tough call.
For me, not this change.
Smith runs to all the right spots, is disciplined, but to me is depth and not over Murray or Varcoe or Greenwood or Crisp or Maynard et al.
100% agree with you that we had a lot of passengers today.
The idea that you don't make changes to a winning team is fine if they are all doing their bit but the truth is as lovely as it was to get the win today we did have our fair share of passengers.
Varcs and Moore come in.
There are many passengers that can make way for them.
Mayne I’d suggest is a better player, offers a lot more.No room for both Smith and Mayne in the side - we can only afford to have one battler who runs all day at the same pace and plays safe, so you get to choose between more defensive pressure (Mayne) or a slightly better link man who can find more of the ball (Smith).
It was GreenwoodDepth certainly being tested. Moore Varcoe Murray will improve things, while two are three others arent far away.
I wouldnt have had Appleby in my 22 anyway so the injury makes the decision for the club an easy one.
Crocker definitely a big weak link. Given seelection policy this year they might persist with him but I dont think hes the short term answer.
Mihocek took some valuable contested marks (one of which was disallowed), he played his role.
Greenwood was ok.
Thomas has shown this season that he is prone to the occasional quiet day but has generally been fantastic. Just needs to improve consistency.
Sier improved as the game went on and was quite important in the last quarter.
Mayne was ok, albeit a bit quiet, apart from one terrible handball that put Langdon under pressure and cost a goal (or was that Greenwood)
To give him the best chance of not being in the stands in September? I recall Walsh saying a few times over the past weeks saying they were going to be conservative with the hamstring squad. It would surprise me if he went straight back in after 1 VFL game. Why wouldn't we play Moore? From all reports he played fairly well in the VFL and threw himself into contests. Why do you want him to sit in the stands for such an important game. You could see the difficulty we had today against Essendon's tall players. You say JK hasn't done full training for a month but he is not going to be held back like you want Moore to be. They'd be a good match.
Damn that's a good team.OUTS: Crocker, Appleby, Greenwood
INS: Varcoe, Moore, Murray
B - Maynard Moore Howe
HB - Murray Sharenberg Crisp
C - Phillips Pendlebury Sidebottom
HF - Varcoe Mihochek WHE
F - Thomas Cox Stephenson
R - Grundy Adams DeGoey
INT - Langdon Mayne Daicos Sier
Especially if The Eagles bring back Darling and Kennedy.
Damn that's a good team.
Have fun working the three outs for them ..maybe Daicos, Mayne then between Sier, Varcoe ???Yeah quality.
Then hopefully get Treloar, Elliott & Aish in as well.
I was surprised/shocked we rushed him back as other players were given a run in the VFL.My bet is Moore will be playing in the intra-club match practice session rather than against West Coast. Given Darcy did his hammy in the second game of the season and then again in his second senior game back, with zero medical knowledge, I would be guessing they would be loathe to step him up straight away? It is as good as season over if he does the hammy again, so be conservative.
Karnesis Mk2Yep, Crocker appears to be a weakness at AFL level.
Hope he can improve, but the indications are he may not
From Bucks on Thursday,I was surprised/shocked we rushed him back as other players were given a run in the VFL.
It's my understanding Darcy and Billy have been given a decent stint of solid training prior to playing a VFL game.
That said he only comes in if they deem he's required IMO.
Have fun working the three outs for them ..maybe Daicos, Mayne then between Sier, Varcoe ???
