With a badly bruised shin the pain would've been reverberating all down there after he kicked that shot. No surprise he was grimacing after.

Out: Apples, Crocker, WHE
In: Moore, Varcoe, Smith

We're on an amazing roll and there's no point being conservative now. I have a feeling that one (if not both) Darling and Kennedy will play given the importance of this game to the Eagles, so bringing in Moore is a no brainer. I hope they've been showing him footage of that McDonald fellow down at the Dees, particularly the way he floats up and down the fat side of the ground and finds himself a real paddock to run into and take uncontested grabs inside 50. Either way, I think we'll need his height and athleticism. Varcoe should be able to offer a bit to the side, and whilst I have my reservations on Smith, the kid has spent some time in the seniors and could be an upgrade on Crocker.

Folks, I like the optimism about Hoskin-Elliott.
I kind of just assume he’ll be out injured.

I hope you’re all good judges.

West Coast think that Kennedy, Darling and LeCras could be back next week. If thats the case Moore definately plays.

Not a great sign for them if they’re willing to risk all 3.

Bracing for WHE out. Ideally we don't bring back Moore or Varcoe back early, but if they are good to go get them in. If not give them another week.

I don't want to tamper with the backline but we have no choice with the injuries. I would get Moore back and shift Howe forward. Howe has been a great defender but slightly off at times, it could be time to see what he looks like up forward for a bit playing the WHE role. At times today we didn't look that dangerous up forward. Shaz & Langdon can play intercept roles and Moore take the tall down back. Leave Mihocek as is.

I think our forward line will look off next week as well. Wet Toast have sensational intercept defenders so if we just bomb it in and it’s not on Cox’s head we are in trouble.
Grundy vs NicNat is going to be epic. Our mids and spread is where we can really hurt them next week.

I like Crocker, and he was one of our best forwards at the start of the year, but today he just couldn't keep his feet and looked weak (even with his tough guy tatts). Maybe it was just because he was playing on Hurley, but he didn't seem to lead well (hard to tell on tv).
Daicos was encouraging today I thought, even excluding the goal.
Appleby will be out for 3-4, probably season given where he sits in the pecking order.
Greenwood was better than he's been all year, imo.

(please just a bruise WHE)
WHE will be out for a week minimum, probably 3+, will have bone brusing at the very least.

Sier was a beast...
Not a heap of impact, but you can almost hear the bear awakening from his 3 years of hibernation.. .Some of the handballs he dished out were things of Pendles like beauty....
He’s certainly a clever footballer.
I’m thinking a fine longer term player for us.

One key forward will play. And they'll be underdone. JK hasn't done full training for a month.

Won't need Moore.

Crocker needs to make way.

Varcoe most likely will get the coaches nod but I'd go for McLarty.

My reasoning is that Crocker is basically playing as an undersized key forward anyway who offers little at ground level.

McLarty won't offer much at ground level either but at least he'll have the advantages that come with being genuine kp size and importantly will offer us further cover up forward, down back and in the ruck.

If Kennedy plays next week then having the option of sending Mihocek to defence or plonking McLarty in front of him might be crucial.

If Cox catches fire up forward he can then take the ruck duties from a resting Grundy.

His form has tapered off from his excellent start to the season but he works hard and has a competitive mindset so it gives us something to work with.

Moore can wait his turn this time around and be better for it IMO.

This run he'll get will be great for development. It's still got a lot to learn. But the ball he delivered into the 50 last qtr from near centre where he backed himself against the inform Merrett, He used his strength to shove him and get the tap and get a clean kick was awesome.

As much as we are deliberating over WC including Darling and Kennedy, they would hate to see Moore’s inclusion.
If memory serves me correct, he tore em a new one last year for a half and subsequently went off injured in the second half.... Was destroying em.
Wish I could see that again Darce.

That might be too many defenders. Moore, Shaz, Howe, Langdon, Crisp, Maynard, Murray, Greenwood.

I'd consider Murray for Greenwood (who has been playing mostly defence) because we have lacked some run since Treloar has been out.

If WHE is right i'd go

IN: Moore, Varcoe, Murray
OUT: Appleby, Crocker, Greenwood.
