Bucks shaved his beard. Welp.

So much for the winning streak.
I know you're tongue-in-cheek, but one thing is for sure....some moron will link this to losing (if we lose).

I'm completely non-superstitious, so it doesn't bother me at all....like a bloke shaving his beard will have any outcome on the result.

It would be Daicos (Elliott), Mayne (Treloar) and Murray (Aish) for mine.

Personally I like the idea of Varcoe coming off half back both for his run and his elite disposal by foot - that would leave us with a line up of:

B - Maynard Moore Howe
HB - Varcoe Scharenberg Crisp
C - Treloar Pendlebury Phillips
HF - Hoskin-Elliott Mihochek Sidebottom
F - Elliott Cox Stephenson
R - Grundy Adams DeGoey
INT - Thomas Langdon Aish Sier
Emerg - Mayne Murray Brown Reid

I'd be pretty happy with that lineup personally.

Man that's a great team. That would give me some heart we could do some damage come September!

Unfortunately reality is I very much doubt Treloar will be ready, or that Elliot can have much impact given he has hardly hit the track.

Aish another one who may not have the fitness levels to have a massive impact.

Nice to dream though

Wasn't Bucks' beard something to do with opposition goals out of a D50 stoppage? Did one of those happen on the weekend? I can't remember.

Yes. The streak was broken on Queen's Birthday. He's obviously only now just gotten around to it...

Watching a different game

Yeah he had the ball

Yeah he went to ground to avoid the tackle

Yep he made contact below the knees

Free kick
All day every day

Regardless of possession
The rule was brought in to stop the Lindsay Thomas's of the world sliding in and breaking a leg not from an accident in general play you Nuffy!

Not to mention the action wasn't dangerous not could anyone forsee an injury, it was wrong place at the wrong time. Can for once Pies supporters just admit that umpires arent against us and we are no where near as hard done by as we make it out to be, posters on here starting to make me being embarrassed to be a pies supporter. Can we stop whinging about frees and umpires for 1 week, especially after they favoured us hardcore on Sunday lol. So much so Essendon wanted a please explain from AFL yet we feel hard done by, yeah, right...

Treloar will be ready.
Elliotts been training all month.
Aish has been running and training all month.

A lot wil depend on If WC bigs get up, but I’d be happy with

Out: Crocker (“rested”) , Appleby (inj)
In: Varcoe, Murray

I'm not sure why people are so concerned about changing our lineup if WCE add Kennedy and Darling given that if they don't get up it'll likely be Vardy and Lycett who play. I know there's a class disparity but they're actually bigger than Kennedy and Darling. Surely if we need an additional tall then we need one irrespective of the inclusions.

So who plays on Kennedy if he plays?.. We just don't have the right kind of FB to negate him.

Dunn would have been a decent match up, but we really need to restrict their inside 50s, a bit of rain would be a blessing.

Forcast is for 15C, mostly sunny, 10% chance of rain.

Eagles played great on the weekend. Remember we have gone 3 of our last 8 quarters with one single goal. We are struggling a fair bit at the moment.
It’s a 50/50’game for mine.

Last week was 50/50. This week its 60/40 in our favour. We should win being at home. Finals are still on the line and we must win at least 2 more out of the next four to get us a spot.

Eventhough we have had to contend with a long list of injuries during the season so far, it may well be a blessing in disguise. We could have a fresh Elliott, Moore, Aish, Fasolo, Reid and even Treloar coming into the finals. Most of these guys have hardly played this year, Elliott not at all, so no sore bodies or little niggles for them come finals.

No reid thank you. He is a liability now.

Aish has been running and training all month.

That's good news.

I would still question their match fitness and hardness. Big difference between running on the training track and the intensity of game day. If we can get some games into Elliot and Aish all good.

Treloar - I'm a skeptic on him making it back this year. Hope I'm wrong

The bet was about opposition goal scoring from F50 stoppages wasn't it? Wouldn't shave till they conceded one. Clearly they must have.

If WCE don't play Kennedy or Darling then I'd bring in Smith for Appleby. If one of them do play I would bring in Moore or Mclarty. If W.H.E doesn't get up, then give him a week off for Varcoe or Kennedy.

That's how it started, but then he kept it beyond that.

Not 100% certain but I think we haven't dropped a game since he started growing it. I swear if we lose this week...

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that whether a coach does or does not shave his beard has little, if anything, to do with whether or not his side wins...

It has everything to do with it.

Malthouse had a moustache, we made Grand Finals and eventually won one.

We only got good once Buckley grew a beard.

Coincidence? I think not

Your bedroom must be a tripwire maze of red conspiracy yarn with a logic and thought process like that...

The difference wouldn't be the height - it's the combination of height, quickness off the mark, endurance and forward craft that make Kennedy and Darling so much more dangerous than what are essentially two resting ruckmen.

I wouldn't at all be worried about Vardy and Lycett getting to dangerous spots where we can't send a third man up on a consistent basis.

The good news is that after he shaved it off...it’s started growing back again.
