thompson only change for me! prob for a very unlucky delaney!

even though taz had a quiet one thats the brilliance of the 3 tall foward line! taz gets a better defender and Hansen steps up! next week Hansen will get the defender and its up for Taz to step up!

love it last two weeks are the most dangerous iv seen the forward line in along time!

cunners in the 2's for a couple more weeks get him nice and hungry!

That is spot on.

Last week Taz was free and he kicked 4. This week Hansen was free and he kicked 3. And Petrie is doing the CHF work and still getting plenty of goals

Yes if he's fit but I'm not sure he will be. Those back injuries are an absolute killer.

Hunter seems pretty durable, but it was good to see no risks being taken about underdone players.
Darling, Lynch and the resting ruckman are again the only issue and we did well the past few weeks.

Id be keeping Delaney in to play on Lynch, Grima to play on their resting Ruckman (Cox/NicNat), Firrito goes to Darling and Thompson to play loose.
Im tipping Atley will go to Hill.
Depending on weather on wouldn't be playing 3 Tall forwards in Tassie.

We need to tag or give a bit of treatment to Priddis. He flys under the radar, stop him and their midfield will come grinding to a halt. It's a pity Greenwood is so out of form.

Scotty T in for Delaney. Lynch is a big boy but he's actually quite a poor footballer and gets most of his kicks outside 50 anyway, put Firrito on him with instructions to hurt on the rebound. Scotty T to Darling and Grima on Cox/Natanui. Hill ain't that quick, I reckon we can give him to McMahon and use Atley's run a bit more this week.

Sammy Wright gets the big, big job on Hurn. He's involved in a lot of WC goals so it's important we give him no space.

Historically we are flat after 6 day breaks but playing the Eagles should even that up. I'm gonna back us as long as we maintain the attack on the ball and man.

Azza to return and complete his shut-down job on Hurn. (See Brad's presser from last time we played them.)

Yeah, nah ? Nah. (Sigh...*tear*)

Change -

In: Hunter
Out: Keys

I'm by no means a massive Matty C fan, but Brad's history of utilising the sub so late in the game appears to be a great fit for Flash. Thought he was very handy on Sunday, and one of his possessions where he used his pace and fresh legs to push up and provide and option on the wing, and then turn the burners and bring the ball through the corridor, was an important piece of play (and precisely what you'd want from a sub at that point in the game).

Matty is the perfect sub IMO. Offers a lot of run, and although he didnt yesterday, can kick goals. Much better option then having someone like Gibson as starting sub.

Yep Firrito matches up well on Darling. And I am tipping Hill will be paid a lot more attention to than last time we played them. McMahon could get that job (he didn't play last time).

I don't think we will need Delaney though. If Kennedy was playing things would be different.

I think if Thommo has recovered he comes in but I think Delaney should stay in to play on Cox/NicNat.

Grima - Darling
Thompson - Lynch
MacMahon - Hill
Atley - Hams/Schuey
Firitto - Hurn

Grima matches up well against Darling and has the aerobic capacity to go with him. While giving away size, Thommo on Lynch would give us the opportunity to rebound of him. Lynch gets a lot of his kicks around the wing so hunter will drop off him and play loose to help out others.

I like Firitto on Hurn because of his size. Hurn is a big bloke who can take a grab so I would ask Spud to play his HB role at HF.

Well said.

Drew Robbie and lachie is a beautiful combination. I feel like we're going to score every time we to forward.

Don't mess with it.

The reason its a good combination is because Lachie has been added - Taz played earlier in the year - remember?

It wouldn't matter who the third tall was, whether Pedo/Black (maybe Edwards), they would also realise the benefit of having the other two gorillas do the aerial work and get the best defenders - Taz still needs to contribute, you cant just keep him in indefinitely purely because we happen to be winning.

Thats no knock on Taz at all, just that players are breathing down his neck for his spot so he still has to perform BlueWhiteElf.

I reckon Basti on Kerr needs to work. Maybe back Swallow to beat Priddis & co (with some help from Jack & Patch) rather than assign someone a shutdown role on Priddis.

Agree re Wright.

And this week, practise tackling the torso/hips, or grab the wrist/forearm rather than the upper arm. We must deny them their usual quota of 10 extra frees/2 or 3 free goals from so-called high tackles.

I'm sure you'll do plenty of whining if you don't get your regulation 6 mystery frees at ruck contests, 8 frees from players folding when tackled, and 3 from players head-butting an opponent's midriff. The game won't be played in Perth, with local umps scared of getting their houses torched, so prepare to be disappointed.
You do realise that when we played you last time, two of the umpires were from Victoria right?
Oh, and Woosha never makes excuses.:)

and were keen to get onto the plane safely, while the third was keen to find his house standing when he got home.

Even Gieschen admitted that every free paid in the ruck to Cox that day was an error. That's 5 free clearances, which can make a difference in a game of football.

The emphases on tackling will be huge this week, especially with the bigger blokes (Lachie, Narni, Taz etc), so important to not play into Shuey and Selwoods hands, by beings reckless and lazy.

Nullifying the eagles spread is equally as important. It is a real advantage not having to play them at Subi, because they are pretty much unbeatable over there IMO, 17 wins in a row really can't be faulted, they play it extremely well.

I think Selwood will go to Wells, don't know how he couldnt after his performance on Sunday, which will be interesting, especially if Daniel drags him onto more of a forward flank or wing. That matchup will suit the Eagles perfectly if it is competed mostly in the middle and around stoppages, as Selwood is elite in that area. This is why I'd like Wellsy to play in a lot of space, and be able to use his pace. This will mean huge games are required from our other mids and boomer.

.... didn't see the Adelainde game? As per previous posts, the 3 talls works because one gets the 3rd tall defender and gets off the leash. It was Hansen against Saints, Robbie against Crows. It's worked 2/2 so there's no way it will be changed unless it's really wet.

FWIW my key match ups would be:
Firrito - Lynch
Grima - Darling
Thompson - Cox/NicNat
McMahon - Hill
Wright - Shuey
Bastinac - Kerr
Swallow - Priddis
Cunnington - Hurn

please...........no
why not?

He kicked goals against them last time, seems to read it well in the forward half and having a specific job will help him. Keep Hurn under 12 disposals, have 12 disposals himself, 3 goals and 6 tackles. That'd be a big win and I'd back him in to achieve it!
