Sometimes you wonder what they see and we can't. McInnes is well below Brander and Mallen IMO

McInnes is a man. Brander is a kid. They just see that at moment, mcinness is more likely to crash packs, take a mark in short term. And that’s what we want. Brander at moment is more suited to support role and not be the main man.

McAllen is manish but probably not enough tricks for match committee to have confidence enough for him in forward line. Has mallen shown more than mcinness?

I would trust that coaching committee of a team with equal points on top of ladder would have more idea than likes of you and me. If u can’t see it, believe it or not, sometimes it’s you, not them.

McInnis is a list clogger though. We’re top 4, great. But people have forgotten how we got to where we are. It’s nice to be challenging but the main aim of this season was to get games into young guys. I’d rather see what Mallen has to offer rather than the known quantity of McInnis and there’s no better time than now, when our two best kpfs are out. Allen out of contract at the end of the year and if we keep McInnis over him it’s going to be a bad move. Might argue that it’s for his rucking but I don’t think any other team in the league has 5 ruckman on their list.

Well ur own curiosity to see what mallen offers isn’t a reason enough for him to play. Be proactive and go down to east Perth. I trust the coaching staff have a bit more knowledge than that, as a 10-3 team. We are in a difficult spot but forward line isn’t in a spot to add another developing player. Would have loved it if brander smashes it against Sydney but he didn’t and he is a boy against men. So I get it.

If MAllan cant get a game with Kennedy, Darling and Le cras out then whats the point?

He was drafted as a forward and then recently swung to defense after drafted Brander and OAllen. So he's been stuffed around a fair bit by our development coaches which sounds familiar unfortunately.

Give the poor bugger his chance to prove what he can do in the position he was drafted and has been playing until y weeks ago FFS.

The only time he's been swung into defence is during games when key defenders have gone down injured.

And anyway, "guy drafted as a key forward who spent years on the list without debuting, before being swung into defence by the coaches" could be being stuffed around, or it could be a McGovern origin story.

Sounds like he could be a developed into a swing man then. Point still valid, we are currently three forwards down and missing our full back. Against Adelaide which is where he is from and have three tall forwards.

Allen has been held back for two years with injury issues, this year he is injury free. Very nice straight kick on goal, something we butchered last week badly.

He's an emergency and his family is in Adelaide so hopefully he gets a late call up.

That's not what he said at all.

You want him to react like a fan. That's not his job.

So presumably, Simpson should take a softly softly approach after tonight, instead of a bake right?

I want to see some mongrel out of him for once, Alistair Clarkson would have never have stood for performances like these without stripping the paint from the walls.

Nor would Hardwick

Nor would have Luke beverage

All have won premierships.

Funny that.

Happy for him to bake players behind closed doors. There's not much to be gained from potting them to the media.

Thing is, i can never, ever, remember having seen or read any article from any current player saying Simpson ever gave them a serious bake or spray. Ever. Publicly or behind closed doors.

Simpson, as far as i can deduce, is spending a bit much time trying to be a mate. Too much carrot, and not nearly enough stick.

If you can show me anything to the contrary where a player is saying at any point that our coach was ropable, gave them savage spray or read the riot act in the rooms, i stand corrected.

Where its warranted (like the past fortnight) he needs to be capable of delivering a rocket. Get pissed. Get mad. Show some actual fire in the belly. All the great premiership coaches of both past and present would have. Hell, our most successful premiership coach Mick Malthouse would gone absolutely nuclear after a last quarter like that back in the day.

Nothing i have seen or heard from him (be in publicly or privately) has shown me that he can.

And ifs thats the case, thats a massive concern.

I'll look for one, if you agree to look for a similar example from Luke Beveridge apart from last week.

The only players that should be getting a "spray" should be players like Masten, Jetta and McInnes that have been around a very long time. Blowing his top in the press conference will just earns the club a week of reporting on the incestuous foxsport media runs. Looks like Masten did have the talks as he was getting dropped last season. Sheed the same now.
