Got the team I expected this week with Rosa back in and Duggan having a run with the Royals. This 22 (all being fit) come finals is in my opinion our best team to take into the heat of battle.

BACKS: Butler ~ McGovern ~ Sheppard

HALF BACKS: Hurn ~ Schofield ~ Wellingham

CENTRES: Yeo ~ Priddis ~ Sheed

FOLL: Naitanui ~ Shuey ~ Gaff

HALF FORWARDS: Masten ~ Darling ~ LeCras

FULL FORWARDS: Hill ~ Kennedy ~ Cripps

INT: Ellis ~ Rosa ~ Sinclair
SUB: Selwood

Still think Lycett will replace Sinkers by the end of the year. Sinkers has had some terrible games at fortuitous moments. Lycett hasn't been outstanding in the WAFL, but Sinkers has been that bad on occasions (see Richmond in particular).

The Port game too :drunk:

I agree however Duggan should be in because of his polish and class when he disposes the ball. Agreed with Dom SHeed how good has he been. He has bulked up and looks a beast of an on baller,

Our think our midfield has come a long way. I mean we have the core group of Masten, Shuey, Gaff, Selwood (when fit), Priddis and now the balance of SHeed, Lecras, Yeo, Duggan, Rosa etc its a good 8 or 9 that can run through there.

Cant believe they'd drop the silk and class of Duggan and keep Mr Hack-e-sack Scotty Selwood to butcher more possessions. If anyone watched the Melbourne game closely they'd know Duggs only needs a few possessions to be effective and make a difference. Id much rather have Duggan in the side and let him keep learning instead of a player who will not get skills he's never had.

That is very presumptuous. Perhaps Duggan was down in the last game because he is tired from playing quite a lot in his first season.

It's not that far-fetched because we already know Simpson wasn't happy with Selwood's output two weeks ago. With Duggan needing a rest and a spot opening up for Rosa, Simpson may feel like his point has been made and it's up to Selwood to perform before competition for spots tightens up again (i.e. next week probably).

There's not a man anywhere who wouldn't prefer Duggan over Selwood but in terms of player management I think it's the right decision this week.

I'll guess we won't know until team selections next week.

The trouble is, if Selwood and Rosa play out of their skins this week, it will be very tough to drop one of them for Duggan next week.

It will be like Gaff in 2011 where he was dropped for a few weeks to find some form in the WAFL and he did it well and has played every game since. Duggan is still young and we do not want to burn him out plus we still have young Sheed who is doing well also.

Duggan needs a run in the twos - hasn't been as effective - full game time and a chance to build confidence won't hurt him - He'll get to play against Collingwood in Melbourne in front of his family.

When I was in Melbourne we got to sit near his family. Very passionate and supportive of the young fella, was good to see.

He had a bit of a fan base behind our cheer squad goals @ Etihad against the Sainters. I presume it was his family as well.

Think a full game in the 2's will be good for Liam and his game management. We did the same with Jackson Nelson a few weeks back, although Nelson has a big challenge to break back into the back 6 largely due to the resurgence of Wellingham off HB.
