The Eagles have made just one change to the side that beat Melbourne last week with youngster Liam Duggan rested and veteran Matt Rosa returning after a dominant performance in the WAFL.

"We'll give him a rest," Simpson said.

"He's 18. He's a bit sore still. We're trying to manage our first-years in a way that we get them fully available for next year. We don't want to cook them.

"So, he's out of the side, and we won't play him at East Perth."

The Eagles removed Duggan from their emergency list and added big man Fraser McInnes on Friday afternoon.

Interesting that he's not playing wafl Simmo must rate him best 22. Each coach has his pet/ goto player and how Simpson harps on about duggo I think he's the one.

I'd still prefer Duggan getting 10 touches of class disposal than Selwood getting 20, of which 8 or 9 are turnovers and a fair few of the rest are up and down nothing kicks or blind bombs. If anyone needs to be dropped to find form its Selwood.

If 40-45% of Selwood's possessions were turnovers I guarantee you he wouldn't be in the side. Let's not massively overstate his disposal problems.

Duggan only had 8 disposals last week I think but that was at 100% efficiency.

I also noticed he stayed out of the play a lot in the middle of the ground, almost as though he was told to stay out of the action to be an open target.

With Rosa named at HBF I can see Yeo playing more midfield but importantly when Yeo rests in the backlines, The Gov pinch hitting forward at centre bounce stopages.

Nic to palm it to Shuey or Priddis long kick into F50. Gov all over it with Cheney or Smith watching in aye.

Presumably Butler is sore. He was walking laps at training all week according to Tim Gossage. Reckon Hutchings will be sub and Rosa will play a full game.

I don't really like Hutchings in for Butler, two different players as Hutchings is more inside mid than defender. Might mean that Selwood spends more time as a negating BP and Hutchings goes to SUB? Bennell into the 25 could be another late in pending weather and match ups.

My preference would have been McInnes IN for Butler and use Frase as a third tall back on Lynch or Jenkins

I don't understand why they chose Hutchings. It means Yeo will be defence now. :/
Surely not. Simple changes like hutchings in makes us sonkuch less dynamic. Priddis selwood hutch sheed. Way too much one dimension in there one of selwood or hutch must me sub
