Brown and Frost are going to have their work cut out stopping Walker. He looked like a monster last weekend.

Walker is one of the few non-Pies that I love, but am also simultaneously terrified of.
frost has to go to him.
Brown would get destroyed, although they both could get destroyed 6 goals and 20 marks against a recent AA FB, yikes..

Even from last week there is improvement in us.

Elliott and Pendlebury, 2 of our best 5 players, didn't have great games, yes Pendles got a lot of it but it wasn't a great game from his high standards.

Elliott can play much better, so much better, and if he does it makes us a better team for sure.

Then there's the likes of Fasolo and the inclusion of Seedsman, 2 best 22 players who missed so much footy last year but have what we lack, skill.

I'd be trying to get the ball to Elliott, Fasolo and Seeds as much as we can, they are our best ball users and we will need to be better by foot to win this game.

And honestly, surely Adelaide cant play any better than last week..

Whilst I haven't seen any of their game, reading about the lack of North pressure means they had time and space.
If our midfield applies pressure to their disposals it won't be as easy for him.

Bit hard for Karnesiz or Gault for that matter to show good form when 2 weeks running they won't play at any level. Both on "standby" again this week according to club website.
Hope they play them in the vfl at a minimum. They would know full well if they are going to play sat arvo by sat morning.

Its probably prudent to leave one of the three out (the other emergency is Dwyer) as a genuine emergency to come in just in case of a last minute injury or even just as a smokescreen. Gaults had plenty of match practice..I'd be comfortable with him missing out this week (or being a late change in for somebody like Oxley) . Dwyer and Karnesiz probably need a VFL game more than he does.

Anyone know whats wrong with BenKen? Not on the vfl list and not named an emergency. Dont recall seeing him at training yesterday either

He's got an illness. The club aren't sure how serious it is yet.

Given the bench is named as Sack, Williams, Seeds & Ox I'd say sub will be either Seeds or Ox.

I dont think he has any of the attributes. Not strong enough or tall enough, and probably not a big enough tank.
Strength he has. Height doesn't matter in the midfield. The tank is the only issue, but he has been working on it and wants to play more midfield. But that's why I said "for a while". We will probably play lots of players through the midfield to replace Sidebottom.

I like the inclusions, Broomhead in for side bottom is the best we can do to replace sidebottom at this stage and it presents a great opportunity for broomy to show us he can play midfield. Seedsmans run and carry is extremely important to the side. I perhaps would have gone for possibly Gault in for Oxley also as I think we may be one short up forward and too many defenders but happy to back to coaching staff in. Bring on tomorrow afternoon

If we make Seeds the sub it's a massive mistake, he's a better ball user then just about anyone we have, and to only use that for possibly 30 minutes of a 120 minute game is just plain dumb.

Problem is I can see it happening, they'll think he's the least prepared of the 22 selected to play a full game.

Once again though I won't blame Bucks for picking anyone as the sub, because he simply shouldn't have to make the choice, should be 4 interchange.

Yes I think crisp broomy Elliott fasolo and Williams plus others all get some midfield opportunity now.

But I don't see marley as a match up for danger field this week or any time soon

I have absolutely no clue at the minute. I fully expected us to get reamed last week and yet had we either kicked a bit straighter or not faded late (or both) we would have had a major percentage booster on our hands. I also expected Adelaide to struggle against North so I'm finding picking the winner or the best lineup almost impossible. I do like the Seed when he's in form but I would have liked an inclusion to bolster our forward stocks with Clokey up the ground. We will see what we will see I guess.

Love the Seeed. But he has barely played a full game this preseason. Logical sub. Oxley would be the other logical choice.

Agree - Grundy early probably go with sauce but when he Tires it has the Potential of getting Ugly Sadly:cry:
We have potentially a great ruckman of the future with Grundy, we have to make sure we don't burn him out like we did with Josh Fraser, I hope the selection team know what they are doing. Im ok with giving him the responsibility against the best ruckman, but the kid can't do it, week in week out with 80% game time, 22 weeks of the season.

I'm not sure we're not making too much of Grundy running out of legs last week. The conditions this week will be very different so I'd be surprised if he faded as much. Time will tell I guess.

Fraser was never built to be a number one ruck. And we never had a Witts to give him a chop out. Just because grundy went solo in round one doesn't mean that's the plan for the entire season...or at least that's what I'd hope.

The entire team ran out if legs due to the heat and humidity. Arguably we would have list last week if Witts had played instead of a midfielder.

Steve McKee was Fraser's Witts.
