I believe the Ox will come good but I am also patient. Has some gifts but not quite ready yet.

Fair enough, I just think when one of those gifts is being able to kick the ball we have to play him.

I really hope we don't drop De Goey. I feel like, if we think he's ready to play at AFL level (and if we didn't why the f did we select him for round 1) then back him in until he /proves/ decisively that he needs to go back to the VFL /or/ until someone plays consistently better than him at VFL level. Considering we already have 1 forced midfield change anyway why make two? Hope to see him w/o the green vest on on Saturday.

Agree - Start him and IF he tires then Sub Him

Doesn't have the fitness to play a full game, send him back to the VFL until he earns a spot in the best 22.

I feel comfortable with Frost on Walker.
Has Frost ever had a bag kicked against him?
Yep, Roughead did last season. I think Tex Walker also got hold of him last year in Adelaide as well. Maybe Jeremy Cameron too. Still, the guy is an excellent spoil with great closing speed. He just needs to realise sometimes that speed isn't going to be enough and he'll need to read the play and be in a better position before the ball comes in. Against Hawthorn he kept giving Roughead about 3 - 5 meters of space and was exposed so much they swapped Keeffe over to Roughy in the 2nd qtr.

Whichever team is selected they're going to have to be switched on. North Melbourne aren't easy beats and the Crows completely dismantled them at the very things that make the Roos dangerous. Blair, Goldsack, Elliott and Fasolo are going to have their work cut out trying to shut down the Adelaide rebounders, they were simply outstanding today.

Take yesterday's game with a serious grain of salt though, North Melbourne were awful, and it's not really something I'd put down to Adelaide's pressure. They were just putrid and have no excuses for it. Adelaide's kicking wasn't crash hot, and their conversion in front of goal was equally poor. The main thing to take away from it was their dominance in the clearances even with Jacobs being thrashed by Goldstein, and Walker's impact. The rest was pretty much North Melbourne helping Adelaide win by as much as possible.

Sorry as I know this is your ins and outs thread, but this could not be a more incorrect assessment of today's game if you tried. Especially the comment about not putting it down to Adelaides pressure. Our pressure in the first half was like nothing I've seen from us since the Craig crowbot days, it was incredible. Not saying anything about this week's game, it may well turn out a great game, but just disagree with pretty much everything you wrote about North and Adelaide today. We dismantled them.

Nar, it's pretty accurate . i think your being a little bit one eyed. :P You did play good though . Douglas was great. Dangerfield was a boss. (hoping he will be our boss next year when we poach him in FA ;) )

Bring in Keeffe for Oxley and JT for sidey...

No I would persist with Ramsay and bring in Broomhead for Sidebottom.

Maybe Gault/Witts to bolster our attack as Goldsack may be required to fill the hole in front of Tex.

Too early for Reid yet.

In the tradition of Collingwood subs, surely DeGoey will be either sub again or sent back for some time in VFL.

Hope they. Change this from years gone and give him a start then sub him if needed.

He was showing good physicality when he was on and didn't look out of his depth.

Should be fresher than most too with his decreased game time.

Pants played a whole final series with his broken thumb, C'mon front bum you can do it!

OUT:
DE GOEY - Better for him and his development playing VFL right at this moment and I feel like an older more matured campaigner would be a more effective sub and would benefit our side more.
OXLEY - We don't need that many medium sized defenders against Adelaide, I know Oxley showed great potential but Ramsey and Sinclair played particularly well tonight and warrant a spot before the Ox.
SIDEBOTTOM - injured. Unfortunate but I feel it's an opening for another player to stand up and fill his role.

IN:
BROOMHEAD - Class with the ball and has composure, I think he's played well enough to warrant a spot and I feel he's disposal will be a nice addition to our side.
GAULT - was very optimistic but I feel like Gault would be a great inclusion, not only to stretch Adelaide's defence but give Grundy a chop out while still maintaining 2 key forwards, I also think he warrants a spot for his good NAB form. I also feel that if Gault is picked there is no reason for Karnesis to get a gig.
DWYER/KENNEDY - I feel either Dwyer or Kennedy should replace De Goey as a more experienced sub. I feel they would make a greater impact and if they were to perform well enough they can prove a strong case to start the following week.

I might've been tough not to include PK and Freeman, but I feel like they need to prove that they deserve to be in the side!

I feel like that could be too much feeling. But that's only what I feel.

You guys were awesome yesterday. The way you guys played yesterday most teams would struggle to beat you

I think Buckley said in the post game interview that De Goey was sub due to the belief that he would not last four quarters.IMO Buckley will go with a more experienced player, that is a player that has more preseasons under their belt and the ability to run out four quarters. I would imgagine Seedsman, Kennedy, Broomhead and Dyer are all in the mix. Possibly even Freeman.

Possibly, but lots of neutrals seem to agree with me.....⬇️⬇️ & going on yesterday's gameday thread. There was a whole heap of players who were excellent beyond just Douglas and Danger....Tex 6 goals 15 marks 22 touches (Oh best of luck with Danger leaving....you're no hope of getting him as a RFA and he won't leave now anyway)

Cheers. Anyway looking forward to this week's game. Great to have footy back! Pies - Crows games are always intense and usually good to watch.

I know I've already banged on about it. But I just hope Buckley looked at brad Scott's genius decision to drop a tall for another mid yesterday. Completely backfired and left north with no out.

Need to play 3 talls against them!

Out: Sidey
In: PK/Broomhead/Kennedy

I don't think there's any reason to make any more that 1 change.
I want him to have another crack but I wouldn't be surprised if De Goey went back to the VFL. Looked a touch shocked with the pace of it all.

Frost-Walker
Brown-Jenkins
Oxley/Toovey-Lynch
Williams-Betts
Sinclair-Cameron
Ramsey/Langdon-Ellis-Yolmen

Goldsack has to go to Brodie Smith to try shut down his rebound off half back.
I think Dangerfield would be too strong for Adams, I'd try him on a Sloane.

And if Luke Brown doesn't come up for the Crows after getting injured yesterday could be a big win for us. Was vital in shutting down Elliott last year.

Dawes, Cloke and Brown, with Jolls in the ruck - good point.
I'm still undecided whether it's the way to go.
If we bring in PK for Sidey as an example it provides us with more flexibility.
Best I leave it to the experts.
