From an Occ Health and Safety viewpoint, and particularly with the depth we have, replace both White and Polec this week.
By the way, I am against "the jab" to get people onto the field. No better than a performance enhancing drug.
Polec is the human equivalent of a thoroughbred. If he's injured, he's out.
Last week I thought White looked more sore than Polec, so ditto White.

Not taking the Crows for granted in saying that West Coast are as likely to be as tough. Boaky can spend a little more time outside for run with Robbie in Karl Amon can play and only has to play his role ..... If Ken has doubts about Polac 2 weeks now is as good a time to get him right. We should be comfortable with Amon. I don't see the value in saying he needs to be rested or managed and putting it off for a week. I'm not opposed to the idea of players needing a jab during a game to get through it but to start a game seems a poor call with Amon maybe ready to go.

I'm a bit torn on Mitchell. He has always been on my list of players to drop but I'm starting to see why he is there. He seems to be everywhere on park and never gives up. He has a lot of faults, but he is someone who could be real annoying for the opposition, kinda like a fly at a BBQ..... You know you can kill it, if only it would sit still for long enough

But in saying that my selections are

In gray, Amon
Out Mitchell, ah chee

That's swapping gray with ah chee... Two insiders

And Mitchell with Amon, two superior runners

As most expected

PORT Adelaide has made just one change to the side that defeated Hawthorn at Adelaide Oval in Round 4.

Robbie Gray has recovered from a corked calf and replaces Brendon Ah Chee, who last week was a late call-up to replace Gray.

Matt Lobbe will partner Paddy Ryder in the ruck for just the second time in Power colours.

Port Adelaide is still without Ollie Wines (wrist) and Jarman Impey (hamstring).

The sub and final interchange will be announced 90 minutes before the game.

LOL ... that has to be the best line you have ever posted!! .... sums him up perfectly. Still makes heaps of mistakes, but his rate of progress has been exponential! He could easily do a Pittard on us all!!

I would rather replace Polec with Gray if Jared really is struggling, I don't like the idea of giving players rest against the easier teams as it sends a message to both teams that we can do it easy and in this comp that's never the case (except maybe against the Queensland teams atm). Look at the way the guys played like their backs to the wall last week with 2 gun mids missing, that being said Jared always seems to play well against the bovines.

Some players need managing. If the options are rest against a hard side, rest against an easy one or keep pushing them until there's no option as they are now too injured to play, resting against easier sides makes sensse.

Besides its a long season and even if everyone is fit now we still want to give players 21-30 some games during the season so we know who is the best 22 available come finals.

Love Amon's development so far, but not ready for AFL just yet ...
I have no idea who is doing well or not in the SANFL but in the past we have made mistakes when it comes to not giving youngsters enough AFL experience.

The question should not be is a player ready to star in the AFL but is a player ready to start getting AFL experience, and if the answer is yes take the steps required to make it happen.

Having seen Krak play I'm not sure that is quite the case.

It's not an either/or proposition. The Hawks game showed we could use a really quick wingman/high half forward who can get in behind a defence with pace when we are pressing back hard. Krak or Impey could be that player.

Very much so, but some of that would have been due to White and Polec carrying injuries and not being their usual self. There was a chase late in the game where White gave up and Hawthorn rebounded with relative ease. Normally White would have run him down easy as.

For mine our improvement in that area will come if Mitchell goes up another level or we find another player can do what Mitchell does plus more, be that Amon or Impey. I'm not sure Krak has the required fitness levels for that role just yet.

However in defence atm Krak is just that tad more mature than Impey and IMO that has put him in front.

Schulz / Hoff / Ryder / Lobbe should be kicking at least 10 between them. At least.

You would hope so but realistically it would be something like schulz 7 ryder 3 hoff 1 goal, a few behinds maximum and lobbe 0
