Not sure we should be dropping Mitchell. Hawthorn ran all over the top of us in the last quarter and only had 2 the bench. For whatever reason we are not running games out as well as previous seasons so would be crazy to drop our second best runner.

What's with the Angus hate, his game last week was great .

cornes Is my concern , who would he run with with the crows?
Think the game maybe becoming to quick for them old legs.

He did a job on Douglas in the first showdown last year

Not sure what to make of the Cows performance today.
Whether they will be fired up for the Showdown and give us a hammering or are set for a string of disappointing loses.
One things for certain, they may struggle to come up the week after playing at Etihad.

Looking forward to Krakouer matching up on Betts.
Might be able to shut him out of the game this time around.

Mitchell played a fine game and is getting better. Kicking began to suffer as he got tired. Not the only one on the night. No reason to drop him. Really really pleased with Young though.

They will make massive changes. Since the crows have ZERO depth they will bring in kids who are way off AFL standard.
Yeah Jake Lever is going to be a gun for them but I can see them making a kneejerk selection & picking him off the back of 2 decent games in the reserves even though he may be thrown to the wolves eg Ryder & Westhoff.

Stringer is a star & absolutely monstered Hartigan but that's not saying much as Butch did the same against him in the preseason.

i actually like Mitchells game, probably one of, if not his best for the club. I thought he added a lot of intensity around the ball and he laid some great tackles. Of course there were some skill errors but not a material amount. I wouldn't mind seeing him play again next week.

Mitchell has played a defensive role 2 weeks in a row very well. His tackle numbers are up and he keeps improving, good luck to him! Unfortunately as much as I reckon "Arch" has a future with us, he has to make way for Gray. Mitchell as the sub looks a lot better with disposals when its fresh legs vs tired legs as he gets that extra time.
Arch out, Gray in....Mitchell sub

Out: Mitchell/Ah Chee
In: Gray

Leaning towards dropping Ah Chee due to the experience factor required in showdowns, but we are gonna need all the grunt we have to get over the line.

Based on the doggies result today, I would be keeping Mitchell in.

He was about the only one in the last quarter who had anything in the tank and was still beating his opponent to the contests. If anything exposed the crows today, it was speed and being first to the contest. He gets a tick from me this week. Ah Chee to be dropped (reluctantly) because he has now played two weeks in a row of 20 minutes or less game-time.

Would Amon be considered do you think?
Mitchell did some excellent work but his floating, slow kicks over distance are not pretty. This seems to really stand out in a team that focuses on fast ball movement.
I love his energy though.

Well if it were a relay race it would be crazy to drop him but it's footy and he can't kick and is still tackling shit besides his great one near 3qtr time.

What he said!:thumbsu:

But I have a feeling Robbie will be out for another week:(

I'm keen for Amon to play but with this being the last high profile game for a short stretch happy to play it safe with Mitchell this week. That way Amon can "bash down the door" and debut with a full game vs a lesser team.

Definitely hoping by finals Colquhoun or Amon are ahead of Mitchell. No disrespect to Kane there I've backed him for a while but he's just a fantastic foot soldier that lives out of our 22.

Well said:)

I'm keen to see what Ah Chee can do in a full game. It may not be next week but I'm hoping an opportunity presents itself during the season. He deserves a full run based on what he's shown so far as a sub.

Against West Coast in Round 6 will be perfect.
