Watching the Bulldogs' small forwards dominate today, I'd actually love to see Neade come in for another chance. Especially with Krak in the side, like last year, he could help change his season around.

Not good... Never like the elite to miss games. Especially after an ACL.
A leg injury wouldn't be a good look, could be an inflammation of the old injury and mean a long stint on the sidelines. But there have been incredible leaps in treating injuries, used to be one did your career, like the Barrie Robran/Leigh Matthews injury. These days the injury he got would mean a long time out but he could have 3 or 4 in his lifetime and keep coming back.

But my reason for not wanting him to miss is not that I don't like the elite to miss, I want to see Bobby grind him into the dirt and show the cheat at the other end you don't have to scrag to be a good full back.

Kenny made a refrence in his press conference last night about taking a lesson and not getting complacent by picking boys he trusts to get the job done when they're not 100%. Thought Polec & White were carrying injuries last night, Polec was still serviceable whereas White seemed to struggle with it all night.

Assuming White is still hobbling and we're looking for a bit of pace how's Amon going for the Magpies, seen his name regularly in the bests for the Magpies but haven't heard his name much since preseason ended.

i actually like Mitchells game, probably one of, if not his best for the club. I thought he added a lot of intensity around the ball and he laid some great tackles. Of course there were some skill errors but not a material amount. I wouldn't mind seeing him play again next week.

Had 6 tackles for a start. I don't understand the Mitchell knockers. We have at least 4 mids/flanking backs who can kick a ball 60 metres. The fact that he can only kick 40 and therefore sometimes coughs the ball up doesn't negate the fact that he is one of the fittest/ fastest in the team and adds something that others can't. If there is someone better, sure drop him, but that seems misguided with guys like impey (speed) and Wines (hard bodied mid) out.

Smiled at the observation made by the 7 commentary team as the Bulldogs dismantled Adelaide about how the crows couldn't handle the pressure the bulldogs brought and 'we saw last night about Port's pressure'. That's one change we mustn't make.

I'm keen to see what Ah Chee can do in a full game. It may not be next week but I'm hoping an opportunity presents itself during the season. He deserves a full run based on what he's shown so far as a sub.

So in all likelihood he goes out for Gray. With Moore and Young out of the sanfl side he gets the perfect opportunity to show how far he's come. And he maintains form and is first in line for a call up.

Amon played well on Friday without setting the world alite. Given most players decided they didn't want to bend their back or grab a wet ball after quarter time, no magpies players deserve a call up this week. If anyone comes in, it's Gray.

Saw Gray at West lakes yesterday (I obviously cracked a stiffy) he was looking pretty fit, can't see him missing out on the Showdown
We are going ok when we think it's better he sits it out. Slight nick maybe one week allows it to heal but with 2 weeks we are certain. Plus we have other players we want to see have a turn.

Poor call he was great against North last week, nearly got us through a prelim last year & was borderline AA in 2013, if I'm picking between him & Neade it's a pretty easy decision.

On his day he's one of the best lockdown forwards in the comp, didn't notice Suckling much last night but everyone always focuses on his 'flopping'.

Did you go to the North game. I had a good view behind goals so watched him closely. He may have had lots of possessions but I would say he was involved in at least 6 turnovers that resulted in North scoring. He stuffed so many opportunities that hurt us the other way. He cant kick more than 35m. He flys for marks 1-1 and most of the time his opponent recovers quicker and this leads to a turnover. He is not quick but he does work hard. Impey and Neade in the near future are far better prospects. He's had an ordinary start to the year but seems to be a certain starter every week. He's anything but solid in his current form. But people will say I have no idea. That's the beauty of footy. We all see different things in players.

Ryder on the other hand is a Rolls Royce. Everything he does is class and he's such a smart player. He's wonderful to watch and a great pick up

Okay but the thing that Angus Monfries brings that isn't obvious is his big mouth. He's a world-class sledger. Remember what he did to Heath Shaw in the 2013 Elimination Final?

Especially against the Adelaide defense which may lack in self-confidence after what the Dogs did to them, I reckon having Angus there yapping away would drive them nuts.

Cows board are worried that Tex has dislocated his shoulder.
Haha, I browsed through it myself after the game... and it's amusing at after 1 Loss, they are ripping into the team - such quotes like
"Out - Phil Walsh"

"Out - 22 Players, In - 22x Inanimate Carbon Rods"

They are hating on their entire team, even those who did stand up... sort of.
I guess thats flying as one - off the jetty.

Lol at anyone who thinks that our second half against Hawthorn in terms of conditioning was anything more than just us being exhausted after having to go to Subiaco to play Fremantle in Round 1, back it up 6 days later against another powerhouse in Sydney at home, travel to Melbourne to play a frenetic North, then come back to play the reigning premiers.

Every single side in the conpetition would struggle with that sort of opening to the season. Our fitness is elite and we'll **** up the Crows.

A few players were limping a bit late in the game but that's very normal with a game like that. They absolutely ran themselves into the ground in breakneck fashion against the most experienced, hardened team in the AFL.
The only thing Wingard was carrying was a massive workload that saw him winning some ridiculous clearances and contested ball. Chad is a born midfield jet and i can't wait to see more of him playing in his rightful position this year. He stepped up to give us the mercurial clearance machine we were missing in Robbie.
I think a few here would be shocked to see the physical state of most of our players in the 24 hours after all matches. Like a war zone I'm told. We'll be good to go next week.
After the North game the players came back out for a warm down and they looked like the walking wounded. That makes the win so much more impressive. Didn't stay for the warm down this week but expect it was much the same after a very tough game

Surprised at the kindness being handed to Mitchell from some on here. We were all begging for him to be subbed off during the third quarter. Had a couple of highlights, but most of his kicks were helicopters that got more height than length, and ended up on the chest of a Hawthorn player.

Out: Mitchell
In: Gray

Mitchell has to improve his kicking speed. Way too much hang time which leads to unnecessary turnovers. He should practice this hour after hour until he gets this right

Apparently it's like that after every game. Having a chat to someone from the club at the SANFL game on Friday night I asked if he had any info on whether Polec would be passed fit to play, as he'd been seen on crutches during the week. His response was "Don't read much into that. You should see those guys the morning after matches! One time I saw Jasper on crutches and asked him what was wrong with him? He said 'Nothing. This is just normal for the day after a game'.

It's not just the knocks they take, it's the way they run themselves into the ground.

I have the feeling this will be an epic showdown. They'll come out breathing fire and we're back to some form. They're better than last week and we'll need to move the ball through traffic well to expose their heavy flooding tactics. If we also apply our trademark pressure levels we should be able to make them crumble. Fingers crossed we can get to 3-2.

I also agree with the masses that AhChee out for Gray is the logical move with Mitchell as sub.
