Schoey is a massive campaigner. Elbowed and trash talked Ben Brown all night. Had some choice words for young Silvagni when he gave up 50m.

I love Schoey
A thing to remember is that Tex Walker has a bit of a point to prove.Hes also a bully boy and if left to his own devices can cause trouble. When we played them in Adelaide,Schoey went straight to Tex and gave it to him, really got in his face.As soon as i saw that i knew we were on.Their new ruckman is giving them more grunt in the middle and they have plenty of big bodies;no relaxing this weekend.

Hutch should never be in the team if not playing a role on an opposion player. Hes a liability with ball in hand (field kick)
There's always going to be an opposition player worth negating. Hutchings is best 22.

In: Cripps
Out: Waterman/Cameron

Personally, hope its Waterman out as I would love to see how our forward line operates with the 3 talls plus the 5 quick smalls. Think the biggest improvement since the bye has been our forward pressure and think cameron has certainly helped that.

Just on hutch, I think we forget he wasn't an automatic in until the second half of 2017. On our 10-1 run he was hardly a feature, and nailed down his spot in the second half of the season when sheed was dropped due to poor form.

His tagging is no doubt valuable, though I think it was more important in the back half of last year when we lost nic nat and gaff and had to negate opposition midfields to break even.

I'd argue this year, with gaff back and hickey in excellent form a tagger isn't as necessary to our team. The fact we have nelson in case of an emg is probably sufficient and yeo is able to negate any opposition superstars head to head anyway.

I think our best form of the year has been the last 5-6 weeks and this has been without a dedicated tagger picked.

Not to say hutch can't find his way in, but I'd much prefer if it was at the expense of our worst performing mid (probably masten) at the time and we stuck to the 6 midfielder model that we have generally played over the last 2 seasons.

I just think our forward line has looked much more dynamic since the bye playing 7 forwards + second ruck, and this has shown with us being ranked #1 in the comp for points for since the bye. I think we should stick with this structure and if Nic Nat does come back during finals it allows allen to slot back into one of the 7 forward spots and the worst performing forward goes out.

Impacts our structure a lot less than if we have to drop a mid again.

Hutch must be the only bloke for whom absence makes the heart grow harder.

He's B22 particularly given teams seem to be increasingly going to their best ball user off half back to try and open us up, given our midfield is performing pretty well and applying plenty of pressure.

Our small forwards are good for pressure but none of them are really negators.

I agree with this. Hutch should not be an automatic inclusion and I'm curious to see if we could get even more improvement on the last few weeks' performance by bringing in Cripps at Waterman's expense.

I think it was partly us running out of legs with cripps injured and nic nat hobbled as well.

Since the bye we have gone on a 6-1 run (our only loss by a point) and our forward line has been the most high scoring and dynamic in the comp.

I still agree hutch needs to come in for certain match ups, but I feel like at the moment it is probably on a week by week basis and that it should be at the expense of our worst performed midfielder, not forward.

I also feel we now have the ability to swing nelson into the midfield to tag if a certain mid is getting off the chain (as we did vs melbourne ableit a qtr too late)

Yeah agreed. The four new smalls are all attacking minded which is great for goals but you can’t expect them to mind someone. What a waste.

Cripps is the only more defensive minded player but we need his run up and down the wing so it’s also a waste to have him mind someone.

No and they know that if they lose, port will take their place in the 8. Crows will fight to the death in this scenario. I'm confident we will win, but it will be on for young and old.

Hutch is probably a little undersold. He’s been able to do jobs for us on dangerous midfielders but he’s been more than useful on those attacking half backs. I’ve been surprised how well he’s done against guys like JJ or Saad or Impey.

He’s probably been at his best when challenged - which actually shows in his performances when he is minding someone. Seems to love being given the responsibility. Playing in that Masten wing role earlier in the year he seemed a bit lost. Perhaps that’s just because of the amount of unrewarded running in that role.

He’s not exciting, he just does his job week in week out.

Can't see too many changes, particularly after a good win.
Not known for a lot of changes in one week so thinking maybe just Hurn in for Watson/Nelson, neither of whom deserve to be dropped. When it get's hard you would go last in first out I guess.
If Duggo and Hutch fit I wouldn't be surprised to see them have a hit out in the 2's putting further pressure on guy's to perform to try hold their spot.
Don't often get these correct but must admit got this one pretty spot on.
Let me now muff up this weeks.
no real cause for concern or changes so wouldn't be surprised if no changes unless there is an injury we not aware of.
Sorry but no need to bring in Hutch and I feel they will give Crippa a run in the 2eagles, if though he comes in it will be at Camerons expense.

If in the finals we come up against:

Collingwood - Hutchings play to quell sidebottom who killed us last time.

Tigers - 50/50 as an inclusion as i would be using Yeo to go head to head with Martin. Guess he could go to Cotchin or Houli.

Lions - Plays. He could be good v Rich in the backline. Could play v Zorko also.

Geelong - Plays. Could play v Kelly which he did a pretty good job on early in the year.

Yeo H2H with best oppo midfielder, Huch tagging the damaging half back flanker. f*n Newman kicked 4 against us

Hutch tagging the HBF is great because he doesn't take up a midfield rotation and is very effective in stopping a position that normally hurts us.

Allows the rest of our fwds to provide manic pressure and continue to be offensive

Think Nelson can also play that role, but has a few more strings to his bow
Nelson struggled over the years with his tank but he started this season training with the midfielders in an effort to improve in this area
Has been groomed as a second tagged who is versatile in other areas
Can’t fault his form since coming into the 22

Yes gotta agree, this will be tougher than any of our past three matches, our first top 8 quality team since Collingwood, and we all know how that ended.
