No way Dunn will be dropped. Sorry MFCf, but what would be the point of having brought him back for the one game, in which he was quite good, just to drop him for Sylvia? Doesn't make any sense imo.

I agree Dunn performed ok for us last start, and i am a big fan of giving players more than one week at AFL level when returning from VFL.

Out: Jetta Gysberts
In; McDonald Sylvia

Despite my sentiments above it could easily be Dunn and Mckenzie to make way. Jetta has played some good games, the small fwd seems to be a revolving door this yr, Gysberts unlucky but has played some big bodied teams the last three weeks and for team balance could make way for the skipper. A interesting time for selection no one deserves to be dropped, but McDonald and Sylvia must come in.

Why is Sylvia an automatic in? He hasn't set the world on fire this year...

I agree he hasn't been great this year, but he hasn't been terrible either and he has been troubled with this toe thing. When he is firing he is our most damaging player, so it would take a fairly long run of bad form, without the excuse of injury, for him to not be an automatic inclusion in our best 22 (imo).

Sylvia and McDonald ruled out.

Gysberts has had a taste and has shown plenty. Hopefully he can go back to VFL and dominate there.

Joel MacDonald has been named on the extended interchange.

James McDonald ruled out with a hamstring problem.

Good luck to Joel Macdonald. Hopefully he can make me jump back on his bandwagon. So far he's been a bit up and down and needs to play well. With Junior more than likely back next week he'll need to play well to force out someone like Bruce/Rivers/McKenzie.

Jamar faces one of his toughest tests up against two strong ruckmen Maric and Griffin. Miller will need to give him good support.

Appreciate the confidence mate but he's got some competition! A few real contenders this year.

How about he didn't play well last week?
Nor did MacDonald. Our tackling pressure hasn't been great especially early and Gysberts has only had 1 tackle in the last 2 games, MacDonald has a strong experienced body who is a bit more defensively minded that may have got MacDonald the nod. Considering Gysberts wasn't even named as a emergency in front of 3 kids who were pretty poor last week I think he could also be sore.

Possibly because he didn't play.

For me, the key to winning this game will hinge on whether or not we are prepared to play bold, confident football and attack the corridor. Too often, I've flown over to this shit whole of a city and watched us try and chip the footy around those wide boundaries, only to turn it over and get smashed on the rebound.

Getting through the corridor won't be easy if they set up that fricking boring zone that they play. But I'll back the boys to have the confidence to work their way through it.

Exactly. That's why I don't think it's a form thing. How can MacDonald be in better form when he didn't play last week? I think they want Gysberts to work on different aspects of his game before he gets another crack at AFL level.
