I wouldn't think he'd start as the sub. Play 3 quarters and get subbed off would be the go for me. Then bring on Connors/Ellis for the last.

Conca injured or just a (justified IMO) kick up the arse.
A budgeted for loss perhaps? Dodgy economics if so, as we still need to try and off-set the Freo adjustment and the unexpectedly low percentage yield from the GWS venture. I prefer to think of this as a long-term investment though.

?? Conca and Batch were playing really badly before the break, good to see them sticking true to not gifting games to players not performing. You could maybe question the Elton in (before last week wasn't exactly lighting up the VFL) but overall Morris and Grimes make us much stronger imo. Dea has been fine, no reason to drop him at all.

Not sure what games you've watching but Conca played one of his best games of the year last week with 23 touches and 5 tackles. Absolutely boggles the mind he has been dropped especially without Foley in the side. That's 2 runners down replaced by talls or HB's. Maybe it's a disciplinary thing that hasn't been released to the public. That would be the only explanation. Dea who you mention has been average to ordinary as well.
Add in Miller staying in the team after his game last week and Elton also coming in who by the coaches own words basically played a half at Coburg before fading which earned him a game then yes it's probably the worst team of the year. I don't mind the look of Elton but them the facts.

Happy to see Elton given a go, but can't really understand why Conca and Batchelor have been dropped... Batchelor had a shocker last week but I rate him better than Ellis and Dea overall. And Conca I thought has been a bit down in recent weeks but had a good game in the wet against GWS - must be something we don't know about.
Didn't Conca injure his leg on the siren?
