Good call.

And the sooner Grimes gets back to the backline and Griff goes up forward the better. Excluding his first up Hawk game, the last three have been so, so. He isnt a back, he is a natural forward.
b
If Batch goes out and that leaves Griff, Grimes and Rance, they will all play back. If Batch manages to hold is spot when Grimes returns, that's when we may see Griff up forward.

B: Dylan Grimes, Alex Rance, Steven Morris

F: Dustin Martin, Jack Riewoldt, Shane Edwards
Foll: Ivan Maric, Trent Cotchin, Nathan Foley
Int: Daniel Connors, Jake King, Reece Conca
Sub: Brandon Ellis
Emerg: Brad Miller, Jake Batchelor, Matt Dea

In: Dylan Grimes, Nathan Foley, Steven Morris, Tyrone Vickery
Out: Brad Miller, Matt Dea, Brett O'Hanlon, Jake Batchelor
I like this.

I still see Edwards missing the Adelaide game but I'm probably the only one that thinks so.

Mike, care to explain what happened with Edwards as I haven't seen the game yet, I have recorded it though:)

Edwards was back out on the ground in the last and seemed to be moving with his usual agility.

3 different things. First was 9:42 remaining on the clock in the 3rd quarter he lifts the GWS players leg up from under him quite obviously in front of the umpire, free wasn't paid but should have been, then proceeds to walk over the top of him and knee him lightly in the head and try and tap him in the head with the back of his foot. Second was immediately after that, he touched the umpire but there was nothing in it. Third was at the end he hurt his left knee or right ankle, unsure exactly, but others have said he went back on the ground so may not be an issue.

Also just checked the Match Report, Houli was reported, nothing in it though.
Richmond:
B Houli reported in the fourth quarter for front on contact on T Bugg

Anyone know how Conca ended up at the end?

Might be going a bit early considering it is two weeks away. But if everyone is fit to play..

In: Foley, Grimes, Morris and Vickery
Out: O'Hanlon, Batchelor, Miller and Dea/Ellis

Yep. Good changes. Morris for Dea though I'd prefer. Bye will do Ellis good but he can rotate through the midfield or off HB. Made some mistakes today but was involved a lot.

What has Vickery done to warrant a recall? He has been dogshit average this year.

He hasn't been great but were you watching Miller today? Plus, at least Vickery offers a semi competent 2nd ruck option. Was cringeworthy watching Miller trying to ruck today. Betting Vickery is straight back in against Adelaide.

I think ellis needs to be dropped not because he has been terrible but he would be better of going back to coburg finding the pill consistently for a couple of weeks and getting some confidence. Doesn't look very confident atm the same goes with Dea and he may get dropped as it out of him or batch to get dropped and batch after todays performance looks the more likely to be dropped.

Dea out is just silly. Play the kid, pumped games into his and watch us reap the rewards over the year to come. Houli I like you but put your head over the ****ing ball and cop the contact. Really missed Morris today. Batch has a mare partly thanks to umpire 9 Stevick - the guy is a dead set campaigner. Taught at my school and would often come over point at his name in the paper just to reiterate to the class that he did in fact umpire a game on the weekend. If anyone ever sees him out unload on the campaigner hes a ****ing w***er and gets everything he deserves, he's quite simply a blight on the game. Stevick eadc i hate you, we all do.

Out: Ohanlon, Dea, Miller, Batchelor
In: Foley, Morris, Grimes, Vickery

I love batchelor but I think he needs a run in the 2's to get going again. He can be such a good intercepting mark that I would be nervous about not playinh against the crows. He may do better with Grimes back.

Dea's output was worse than Batch's today IMHO. And I have liked what dea has done in reccent weeks but looks to be struggling right now.

There is not much down at coburg and we need a clean out of another 6 or so players in this years draft/trade period

McGuane, Post, Miller are genuine list cloggers. Add to these three McDonald, A.Maric and Moore (Moore should be delisted and rookied if its possible - wheredoes he play if he is fit anyway?)

White & Webberley must be on the edge too but the do give us better depth if needed here ans there. I like webbs actually he could easily play good AFL footy.

Matchups down back against adelaide would be

Griffiths - Tippett
Rance - Walker
Grimes - Porplyzia

Please no!, vicks can stay in the magoos for rest of year for all I care.

Rather give jaydon post a run in the ruck....vicks has been terrible all year.

Cannot think why people would want to drop Miller without bringing Vickery in. Griffiths will be required down back. Do we really expect Jack to play as our only tall forward and Maric the only one capable of taking a ruck contest? Dea is safe too, has been improving every week and I reckon he was in our best yesterday. Really impressed.
I'd go in - Vickery, Morris, Grimes, Foley
Out- Miller, Batchelor, O'Hanlon, Ellis/Edwards if injured.

Ellis easily had his best game of the year so far yesterday. Not sure why we should leave him out now. Thought Batchelor wasn't too bad, just had a dirty dirty day with the umps, and it happens to everyone. Wouldn't drop him over that. Obviously Grimes, Morris, Vickery and Foley are definite Ins. I wouldn't be surprised to see Griffiths get dropped, as three talls down there might make us a bit slow. I think that they will keep Batch over Dea as well. So O'Hanlon, Dea, Miller and maybe Griffiths, or another out from suspension/injury.

Our best side IMO is :

Morris Rance Newman
Houli Grimes Batchellor
Grigg Cotchin Jackson
Edwards Griffith/post Martin
Vickery Jack king

Maric
Lids
Tuck

Int : foley , Nahas , Connors sub : Ellis/Conca / Dea

IMO we need a lead up CHF , to develop space within our forward line , I'd be happy to not have a massive output from them provided they create space and a option to kick to 65-70 out so that at worst our we get a contest for our midfielders to rove off and our forward 50 entries are deeper and into a more opened forward line .

Connors /Ellis / Conca / Nahas / Dea / Houli not to fussed I think they all add something , yet have all had some indifferent moments , very much pick based on opposition .

We seriously need to get 3 talls into the forward line who actually have a weapon and can help Jack. Vickery has been disappointing this year and is down on marking confidence. I don't mind him in the team to learn to battle his way out of a slump. But we need him to be a 3rd tall, not a 2nd tall. It's time we stopped stuffing Post around. Dropping him after Round 1 was a pretty disappointing decision imo. Young talls should be given 3-4 consectutive games minimum. His last 2 blocks of 4 games were both promising(last 4 games of 2010 and 2011) Playing at Coburg for 10 weeks with no reward is enough to make a player lose confidence altogether. How did Miller get a game ahead of him yesterday? The club should be that interested in seeing how Post goes after several weeks in the team that he'd be well ahead of Miller getting games imo. I really hope he gets a long run soon because wasting him at Coburg will have us never knowing what he could really produce at afl level. Miller is a stop gap. I can't see a team with Miller as one of your main talls going very far at all. At least Post has a great leap and mark. He can offer something up forward. Anyway:

In: Foley, Morris, Grimes, Post, Vickery
Out: Miller, Batchelor, Dea, Houli, Ellis(rest)

Batch, Dea and Houli have been making some mistakes down back recently

We play well at Aami. Let's bring in a team with a potent forward line

This thread title should be changed to-

"Changes for the Jake King Memorial Grudge Match against the Un-Australian Piss weak Dobbing Dogs"

This it the one game i want us to win more than any, and i bet the players do as well

Surely that type of dog act will be in the back of our players minds (in particular Kingy). I really hope this could be a real motivator for the Tigers against an in form Cows unit.

Watch Batch improve once Grimesy comes back in.

Keep him in.

My only concern with Grimes is the several weeks spent on the sideline, and to a lesser extent Foley's inclusion in a fortnight's time. Hopefully they can overcome a sluggish start on Saturday week for a solid four quarter effort.

I think batch should be dropped, hes got the talent far as i can tell but he plays with a casual mentality always looks to me like hes kicking back and not mentally there, sending him to the 2's will send a message that he has to be more mentally switched on at all times, need to make way for morris and grimes as well.

Vickery likely to play- spoke to him at the after match and the "leg" really was, although something minor but could have suffered a setback in the wet. (I'll pass on what in PM only). He was almost selected this week.

Can Grimes come back in after 6 weeks without a game, does he need a run first - be interestig to see if he plays some time with Coburg for the run next week (or did he this week ?)

Griff will not play forward line this year - unless he spends time back at Coburg or at least out of the side learning the forward line game plan. He hasn't at all yet - from the horses mouth. After the saints game he felt he had done enough to hold his spot when Grimesy came back, while he hasn't looked great in the wet the last few weeks he hasn't been shocking either - and even though he is tall he is still nearly the fastest bloke in the backline.

So Foley, Vickery and Morris the definite returns, Grimes a maybe. But I reckon it wil lbe only the three - just not sure Dimma would make that many changes, especially with one potentially underdone.

Outs Miller, Ohanlon, Dea or Batch. Changed the last for any suspension should it occur.
