Davey officially out INJURED for a couple of weeks. WOW we had such a good start to the season injury wise and its all gone downhill so quickly.

But that means Dan Nicho gets a go which I'm pretty excited about. The one thing I remember about the pre-season game against Brisbane was his blistering run from the midfield to the goals, he missed though. But damn that was exciting.

Nicholson on Garlett might be a good match up this week.

Considering Strauss came 3rd in the agility testing and =4th in the repeat sprints at his DC, it's safe to say he isn't slow.

I think we will see some good signs from Strauss this year

Can't argue with the facts.

In saying that, i am yet to see this pace helping him at VFL level let alone at AFL level.

My post wasn't just about raw pace, a smart player who is not naturally quick can sometimes make a pacey player look slow. In the case of Betts and Garlett, they are both smart and quick.

Strauss is not ready and will be given a football lesson if exposed to either of these two.

Nicholson on Garlett might be a good match up this week.

He tagged & dominated Sewell in the VFL as few weeks ago, that was the game he was BOG with 30+ touches. No comparison, but lets throw him on Judd right from the start, has the pace to match him

Sewell is supposedly a much better player seeing as Nicho only had 3 games VFL experience at that point, maybe he thrives on the challenge, there's not many bigger

News that Nicholson will be starting as the sub, a good move IMO.

IMO that means that two of Blease, Bennell and Strauss will com in to provide rebound and kicking ability off half back, as well as being small defenders

Assuming that it is Davey, Tappy OUT and Nico, Bennell IN does that mean our forward line still has Newton and Bate in it along with Green and Jurrah and Petterd? Is anyone else worried, I mean, it didn't exactly function all that well last week, did it?

Still, I s'pose it gives Watts another floating role, which he did well last week...

Personally I think Bate has to go, one of Joel Mac or Warnock also should go due purely to matchups on the Carlton forwardline... unless Joel is going to be used across half forward.

Newton will get another game I think, but I would rather he didn't

Kreuzer (R - Hampson out)
Bower (HBF - Thornton out)
Warnock (INT)
Henderson (CHF - O'hAilpin out)
Curnow (RR - McLean out)
Houlihan (INT - Ellard out)
Lucas (SUB - Armfield out)

Austin and White also injured.
Then others out of form (even by VFL standards ) in Watson, Davies, Hampson and Joseph.


Henderson may come in depending on his fitness following his oppo.

Houlihan and Henderson are emergencies so i dont think you can say they are starting 22 if they dont get games when fit...... but yeah you have a few out in :

Bower, Curnow, Warnock and maybe lucas, lucas may struggle but is definately talented, your midfield is obvioulsy hard to get into

They just fill a 22,and keep the oppositoin guessing dont get worried about the positions, Grimes was named in the midfield for about 4 weeks before he played in it, jones down back etc

frawley can run with betts, he has pasted milne before
warnock to waite, and **** nos who takes garlett.. it worries me the height of the team we are trotting out yet we arent a good contested marking side anywere on the ground..players who are taller than average
