Out: Richo, Jackson
In: Riewoldt, McGuane

If Polo is injured then either White or Hyde to come in, depending on Hyde's back. Preferably White.
Maybe even Schulz for Hughes or Kingsley, although i doubt it.

A certain in? I dont think so.

I'd like to see:

OUT: Richo, Jackson, Meyer, ______
IN: Riewoldt, Hughes, Kingsley, McGuane

Reason for these tall forwards is because we need to match their backline. We cant afford to let them have a tall down back as a lose man. McGuane to come in so Polak can do some of the ruck work.

I wouldn't mind it if Kingsley doesnt play. He didnt do much for Coburg but his experiance may count for something. Be great just to see how Schulz, Riewoldt and Hughes go as a trio.

Schulz to play down back this week?

I very much doubt it. Hes been tried there and has failed. Looks like a match better foward

I don't know why everyone is stressing so much about the Essedon tall foward line. They have to A class fowards in Lucas and Loyd (who i rank in that order). Bowden has beaten Lucas the last few times these teams have played and i would like to see him start on Scott again.

Lloyd im more worried about. Thursty or McGuane will probably start on him but he really need a second man blocking the space. This really cant be Polak becuase he is too slow.

The worry for me is the crumbers and smalls. Blokes like Johnson, McVeigh and to a lesser extent, Davey, are very versitile. These are the blokes who will cause us most worries IMO

we have to leave schulz in, hes a good option and probably would get more of it if we wernt so richo-conscious. Hopefully they give riewoldt a go this week as well.

davey - king? i would have confidence in kings ability to stamp out alwyn not so much with pace but general physical presence.
johnson - newman?
mcveigh- pettifer? same height abilities much the same

i agree davey and king wouldbe a good match up. not sure about johnson and newman and mcveigh and pettifer though! any other thoughts?

I think Riewoldt will debut. I have watched a few Coburg games this year as i have mates playing for them and Riewoldt has been great, deserves a chance.

Just a question for you Richmond supporters, is Will Thursfield a consistent starting 22 player? (Dream Team)

Good luck guys , going to the match and hope you kick butt .
Think this will be the big one for you

I would have thought so at this time now............ not sure though

Lucas kicked 4 goals in both games last year as well as 10 + marks in both. Bowden beat him? I dont think so. Mcveigh gets under everybodys guard and will damage you guys as he has every other team we've played this year. Stanton will rack up 20 + possies even with a tagger so i'd let him run free. To be honest you should go head to head all over the ground and see if you can beat us. I expect with the absence of Richo that our backline will have a picnic and help set up numerous counter attacks.

What are the key match-ups:

Hird was in great form against Brisbane -> Johnson, Raines
Lucas -> Polak
Lloyd is struggling -> Thursfield
Davey ---> King
Hille ?? pehaps we need another tall -> McGuane for Jackson
Bowden as back up for any of these.

Watson, big guy ----> Tuck

Johnson ---> Tivendale

Stanton ---> Foley

Lids ---> Peverill will tag him

Up forward
Kingsley for Richo (mark it down he will come in) --> Fletcher
Schulz --> Michael
Riewoldt for Meyer ---> Ryder

We match up OK on these guys, but we will need to go taller otherwise we will get too stretched.

In: Kingsley, Riewolt, McGuane, White
Out: Richo(inj), Polo(inj), Myer, Jackson
He kicked 4.2 in his comeback game against brissy :confused:

Yeah but he didnt look confident at times I think Loose Cannon is trying to say.

I certainly saw a few times he didnt stretch like he used to.

I agree, but if you can kick 4.2 at 70-80%, things are looking good for later in the season.

The thing about lloyd is the effect his presence has on the side in general. Last year he played the first round, lkicked 8 and we spanked the permiers. he got injured and we lost 13 straight!

similar thing this year, we struggled when he was out, then dominated last week on his return.

even not at his best, he is often the difference between us winning an losing

Too true. He may not be anywhere near 100% at the moment but he's still the man who gets the best defender which gives everyone else an easier day.

Lloyd is the key.

how is hughes going, any chance to play?

I bloody hope so. Should never have been dropped in the first place. I think a dry night should have him included for sure.

Think we should debut Casserley. Pressure will be off him with all the spotlight on Jack and i think he is about ready to be given a chance.

Hopefully Jack does well for you this week , and anyone else that comes in. Think you will beat the bombers easy

Casserly certainly outplayed JON in Tassie, must be a chance, not sure how many changes will be made. Two forced (Richo/Polo) may be the only ones.
