Changes vs Bombers?

Johnson was better than most against WC, and was no worse than most against Collingwood.

Hoping none of Grigg, Ellard or Johnson is dropped. These players deserve a chance to settle in the team, and don't see how they've been any worse than other over recent times.

If anyone is to be dropped, prefer to see some "settled" players dropped if a statement is to be made.

:thumbsu: I'd drop Carrazzo. Can't really play him and Ellard in the same team, Ellard was better than him last weekend and deserves a go.

Partial line in the sand this Friday guys, not a full line in the sand.

----- ------ ----- ------ ----- ------ ----- ------ ----- ------ ----- ------

Lets hope he doesn't join the dots and make it a full line in the sand. God forbid what might happend

I was disappointed he only said a partial line in the sand.
To me it felt like he was just trying to cover himself in case we dont show up.

This is a full line in the sand game. We've been pushed around for almost a decade and it's time to stand the f*ck up.

Walker, Fisher, Yarran out

Hoops still not right (despite someone saying he was ready to go 2 weeks ago)

I think a lot of people are questioning his assertiveness. I think he still feels the pain from last week and tried to be politically correct but stumbled. No doubt the team will lift, but to what extent.....the proof will be in the pudding tomorrow night.

Last "line in the sand" game we won by a bucketload, so it works for me! :thumbsu:

Ratten actually sounds like a genuinely pissed-off man this week. Too often I think he's sounded over-confident & happy with everything from my POV. Maybe a few harsh words will inspire a better contest at the ball.

What Ratts should have said is that there is a line in the sand between the players and me (particularly the senior players).

The senior players should have copped an absolute bake for the last six odd weeks of meek football.

Bar the obvious one or two they are not setting any example worth following for the younger players and anybody who has worked in a team will know the power senior, experienced people within that team can have over the juniors. There is a respect for seniority and experience even if you don't like the person. The senior guys should be using this to get the best out of the younger guys.

If the old boys are squibbing contests, not running, not shepparding etc why would the young guys bust a gut to do something different.

Got this email from the junior footy coach at Sandy Bay today:

Just received news that Marcus Davies will be playing on Friday night in his first AFL match for Carlton against Essendon. He found out following training this morning.

Awesome news for Marcus and he's in my Supercoach team :thumbsu:

Garlett struggles to get near it and hit a target up the ground, so why would we drop Yarran?

Unless it's an injury like the rumour surrounding Yarran last week, I'd rather keep him in the squad.

And Johnson survives ahead of Walker.

That should give us the legspeed we need to match Essendon...

EDIT: Just saw that post on the CSC and read that Walker is carrying a back injury, but will play in the seconds.

Damn.

It would be great to see Fisher reach 100 games, but he probably doesn't deserve another game.

Happy with those outs. Perhaps Johnson as well? Sends a strong message. Looking forward to Davies debut tomorrow. Also good to get Armfield back into the starting 22. Hadley should play on Watson. Hoping Robbo gets back this week.

Just puzzled as to why Yarran's out?
From what I've heard about the weekend's game, the general consensus was that he was one fo the only few to have a go and break the lines, it's jsut that he had no targets leading for him/no support. can anyone clarify?

Correct all round. Plus 1 more. Army, Davies, Robbo and Hadley in

4 changes is a lot to be making this late in the year when we are set to play finals. Surely we must know by now who the best 22 or 24 are. 4 more changes is just going to add instability into the side. What happens if we lose this; make 4 more changes - out with the four we just brought in and bring back the 4 we just dropped. Statements need to be made on the field, not at the selection table when we are this deep into a season.

Gotta feel a bit sorry for Fisher. First game this season and was no worse than everyone else, could have given him another chance. Maybe?

Yes me too. Would love a plausible reason if anyone has one as although I haven't watched the game, from what I've read he was far from worst.
Injury perhaps?

Once again, have to agree. Don't believe I've read one post he said he was crap, only that delivery when it got there was ordinary.

This is one of my current pet gripes TBH. Bringing players in and out for a game at a time is no good for the player and doesn't stabilise the team at all.
